Default Cannot Open The Hood on my Outback

Today I pulled the bonnet catch on my 2002 Outback and nothing happened . I've tried pushing down; lifting up; giving it a tap; and pushing the outside lever through the grill. !Removed! thing won't budge. Can anyone help? Does anyone have a sensible suggestion to release the hood? Help Please.

Cable may of stretched.
Look at the back of the lever(Inside the car) and put some pliers on the metal cable, pull and hope the bonnet pops open.

Someone else said the same thing; and a squirt of WD40 to help release the catch.

Thanks for the reply and advise.

Appreciated

While you are pulling the cable have someone press down and pull up on the bonnet.

Sorted..
A squirt of WD40 last night; then a pull on the release catch today; and the hood opened. I've greased the catch well; and hopefully that's it. Must have been the extremely cold weather that caused it to stick?

Thanks for your help and advise Gent's; it's appreciated

Correct; but hood or bonnet will both cover the head. BTW is there such a vehicle as a Subaru Outback Convertible ?
