Trying to get some genuine feedback on these guys, has anybody had experience of work done ? Good/bad ?
Or do any have a recommendation for a trusted mechanic in the North Hants area ? All help greatly appreciated

If it's a guy called Len, if memory serves me right, he comes highly recommended by some of the older, non posting members on here, which is why you're probably struggling to find current feed back.
I'm sure others will be along to sing his praises shortly.

Subaru4you are supposed to be very good. I know one person that used them and could rate them highly enough. I was going to use them to have my work done, but ended up going with Stewart at TFS Racing in Aldershot instead. He does very good work and is very helpful. I'm heading there shortly to sort out my MOT/service and suspension.
I Spoke to them a few years back regarding getting a engine forged when I was looking to buy a hawk STI.
The guy on the phone was very helpful and explained a lot.
That's all I can say, not sure how they are in person but always do extensive research to avoid any nasty problems after.

Ok guys
that sounds encouraging so far thanks . I will admit that I have spoken to somebody there back last year when I was looking for a car and although the name of the person I dealt with escapes me, he seemed very helpful and actually steered me away from a local car that he knew . But we all know phone manner and helpfulness doesn't always extend further than that , at least not to the workshop in some cases .
Oh and I will have a look at TFS as well , tbh I have never heard of them .

used Len and Rick for many years, Len is a great chap and never oversells you anything, wealth of knowledge, had an engine built by them many years ago and still going strong now, one of the rare decent and honest places left to go!
Our 2015 sti is there now, dropped it off this morning for an exhaust fitment, new plugs, rcm fuel pump and a live mapping session tomorrow. The guys seem professional enough and polite etc, price quoted is very reasonable imho.

As Barnshaw said, a top pair to deal with. If Len doesn't know it about Subarus then it probably wasn't worth knowing anyway. Only little warning is he's of the old school and can be a little cantankerous, don't take it to heart and you'll be fine.

Len Carlyon at Subaru 4 You recently built my 2007 2.5 Hawk Sti Spec D, and what a peach it is too. Explain your budget to him and what you'd like to achieve, and he'll best advise you.
As said before, he won't "flog" you anything, he'll just give you honest proper experience filled advice.
From the moment I saw the videos on YouTube of Len rebuilding a 2.5 STi, I was sold. Didn't realise who he was, and didn't notice he's S4U overalls on the videos, but do remember saying to myself "When I want my engine rebuilt, I want this guy to do it"
I booked my car in for front and rear Whiteline ARB's a few years back....boom....I had found him!
Len is a 100% decent genuine guy, and so is his brother Rick.
Oh, and he uses Bob Rawle for mapping....nuff said. The end.
PS, Len is the workshop, he doesn't have any guys on the spanners with him anymore. The vids below are a few years old now, and Simon Roe (RIP) can be seen mapping.

You'll be in good hands. What's the car, any pics?

Bought some Whiteline droplinks from them last year and bought the wrong front set (Import uses alloy wishbones, who knew!). Got back in touch, explained I was a ****, and they sent the correct ones out that same day. Know what they're talking about. Would use again.
I had my air box lid left loose after my service there last year, which was disappointing, and they couldn`t get to the root of a problem that the car had on 2 visits. 100 mile round trip so probably not again for me, sorry.

Ah
sorry to hear that fella , glad you mentioned it though .Sometimes things do get overlooked , they shouldn't of course , but do. More interesting to me is the problem you mention , has it been resolved now and was it a simple remedy ? Was S4U's approach to the problem satisfactory in your eyes ? Also were they apologetic in not being able fix the problem or did they just fob you off ?
Sorry for the questions but this is relevant to my first post....cheers

Very happy to add my endorsement. Rick and Len are good people who offer personal service. I'm only sorry that we'll be selling our Scoob before long and won't be seeing them again - and that's after several years of travelling down from Oxford. Go in with your eyes open and they'll do you fine. If this turns out to be my last post on Scoobynet, I'm pleased that it'll have been for such a decent pair of enthusiasts.
