Default Oh fuc.k... Engine temp shot up

Overtook a few cars on way back from work... (Idiot) on a 30-50 stretch of road. Didn't let the engine warm up.
Smoke
Burnt rubber smell
Coolant pissing out

Head gasket? Or?

Hope so... Getting it recovered tomorrow morning. Taking no chances, if it is a head gasket will probs have to sell it to them!

I can't afford a head gasket replace (labour) I'm getting it taken to them tomorrow morning, can't risk driving it there. If I knew 100% it was just a split pipe I'd do it myself but with the temp at 100 for a few 100m drive I don't know what internal damage I've done so they can just pressure test everything make sure it's ok...

Yeh but I can't pressure test a cylinder! Once I get a lockup and a diesel everyday car I'll be able to do a lot of stuff myself but as this is my everyday taking it apart and getting it back together before work in the morning isn't possible

ive had 2 of these type of incidents recently and the car survived both times. i had corroded metal water pipes which pissed coolant all over the block and it does stink, i still smell it now when the cars up to temp. my gauge went to 3/4 on the gauge both times and its been fine. you might be lucky bud, fingers crossed.

Don't worry too much mate, the engine being hot for a few seconds won't kill it. Fingers crossed for a hose.

The engine not being warm is not the problem. Sounds like a loose hose.
