Default Nurburgring tyre choice.

Im taking the 2012 STi (circa 1500kg) to the ring this year instead of the 911 and wanted to know peoples preferred tyre on the circuit.

last year I used Michelin PS2s (n4) on the 911 and the grip and break away was superb, but unsure what to run on the Impreza.

opinions please! tempted by cup 2s this year.

thanks

I've only used RE070's there but on a 17" wheel, when you out there?

was that on a newage? I was tempted with the 17 but it limits me on tyres and not sure they clear the stock brembo set up.

im out there end of april, going back in june then a spa/ring blast in septemper.

Yokohama Advans AD08 R's were my choice last time out there, couldn't fault them.

Nankangs are good and consistent if you are on a budget. AD08Rs otherwise for more grip.

Just fitted some 245's on to my 18" turinis for the trip in March

Not too fussed about the budget especially on tyres , a few of my mates run AD08Rs , are you running a baffled sump?

Thanks

Wont be running a sump baffle mate. Three of the other subaru track friends have only ever run the rcm windage tray (if anything at all), which doesn't do anything for oil surge. No issues at Combe or the Ring as yet!

Will be keeping a close eye on the toucan as always. It is a 2.1, so I am always weary of how I treat it!
