Default Any info on this type r?

Hi all, just joined up and looking for some info on this motor, hopefully someone on here knows it or knows previous owner.
http://www.sterlingperformance.co.uk...01510298249906
Unfortunatly no reg.
Looks like its had quite a bit of money spent on it, im new to imprezas dont really know much about them as im a ford man (flame suit on) but this 1 has caught my eye.
I am thinking about a change, ive been looking at r32 gtr's and evo 6 tommi maks and currently own a mk1 focus rs.
Any help would be great thanks.

No way is it an 11k car. Its a prefacelift early model with an average spec, facelifted front end and decent paint. Yes it has some nice bolt on bits but is 4k over price imo

Really, that much over priced? Suppose they have put it up at that price seeing how many people bite. Need to see how quickly my focus sells and then start looking properly. It does look pretty tidy but really need to see it in person and get under it to see how good it is

If you're even considering going to look at it then my advice is start reading up on them asap coz you clearly dont know what you're looking at and if you're willing to part with 11k on that you need testing. Its a 7k car, at best. Theres been 1998/1999 models with similar spec and condition sell for 6k recently so shop around.

Forged STI bottom end.... But no spec or who built it, sounds very standard and unforged engine.

This is why i was wondering if anyone knew the car or previous owner just for some info on it, its had alot of work done so was suspecting its been owned by a forum member somewhere

It will be a standard engine and they are doing the usual and playing on the fact they have forged pistons, hardly a fully forged bottom end unless i seen proof and from a decent builder then id take it as a pinch of salt.

Hardly any info in the add and looks way over priced.

This should help you identify the GC/GF models: http://www.type-ra.com/impreza-timeline/
Typer99 has already pointed out it's an MY97 car with a facelift & altered interior/exterior

I was put off by the spelling and attitude of the advert.
What's a "foged" engine?
"....Very Rare Subaru Impreza Type R (find another)" OK, done.
