Default New owner taking on a task

Hi I had opened an account with scooby net a while ago but im not very good with this computer stuff I'm just trying to getting the hang of it so bear with me iv not long bought an impreza turbo 2000 I not long had it on the road b4 I had to take it back off again (the perks of having power) it failed mot on rust so Iv decided to go to town an redo everything from recon gear box to new break lines, suspension recon drive shaft ect so any help would be much appreciated as I am new to this an I have found out cars like these get a bit confusing

Id sort the rust first as its probably worse than you think as the classics rust from the isnide out.

Ye that's were I'm up to just got to weld both rear arches in an welding is finished but ye as u said I found out when we started cutting bits out they do rust in side out its all rust free now just needs wax oiling after arches

make sure you waxoil inside the pockets in the boot, thats where they eat themselves from. Be careful ploughing loads of time/money into a uk2000, theyre known on here as poverty spec, so tend to be the bottom of the food chain. You're about to learn that an Impreza will laugh at your bank balance, especially when its a uk2000

Ye will do mate I was just going to wax oil every were that I can get to take it you have been though all this lol

Yup, several times until I learnt not to plough money/time into a uk2000. 1st classic I had was a 330bhp X reg uk2000, all the mods had already been done and it was well looked after, but was eating itself from the inside out. Sold that and bought a red uk2000 that appeared to be rust free but needed an engine/mot etc. Nice blank canvass I thought but by the time I'd got it on the road (6 months) the arches were starting to go on that too. Now got a type r and the 1st thing I did was take it somewhere to be stripped and fully rust proofed/undersealed.
