Won't be worth much more...it's still a 16 year old car, outclassed by many modern hot hatches now, with a VERY basic interior, no rear wash-wipe, poor stereo, basic seats, VERY poor headlights, fairly basic brakes, no folding mirrors, basic suspension setup, etc etc.

Trust me...I have a 98 car, although mine has had the faults the Japs sold it with removed/upgraded

IF you can find someone after a collector's car, or just wanting an un-modded example, you will get £5k or so. Otherwise.......keep it.

Any pictures Craig? Seen a mint one it red go for 4k. Theres a few listed at moment for 4k. Depends on colour aswell, that can make or break it. Plus saloons go for alot more than wagons.

Don't see why. Mine with a rebuilt forged 2.5 and 400+/400+ is probably worth £2000, despite the mods having put right all the cr@p that the greedy importers and Subaru foisted off on us, and running to 2 pages of typed A4.

I think you'd struggle to get someone to pay even £4k for a bogo UK classic, regardless of milage and condition, I also doubt they'll be one of the more sought after Imprezas in 10yrs either, maybe get reasonable money for the shell in a few years, much like you would now for a MK1 Escort 1.1 shell but the car it'self as is won't really be what people are after.

The impreza turbo was classed as one of the best cars of the 90's. Along with a good sporting heritage. All turbo cars will make good money in years to come. Ok, some models more than others. Just look at the price of 80s hot hatches now. Every man and his dog had one back then. So i think next 5 to 10 years there could be some serious price movement.

Maybe so, but no one wants a 1.4 Golf or a diesel 205 and anyone that knows and loves Imprezas enough to get serious money out for one in say 15yrs time won't be looking for a UK classic, there's also no world market for UK classics, the Yanks won't be lusting after them nor the Europeans or Japanese it's all about JDM and special editions, the rest is tosh I'm afraid and only going to be worth something in parts.

I think it's all relative really. The jdms and limited editions will go up the most, but as they go up in price and less are available on the market it will filter down to the "lesser" models too. Not to the same extent by any means, but they will go up.

UK turbo's will never gain the sort of money you think they may, im with Ditchy here, limited editions will hold their money more but they wont gain cash unless its a very well looked after 22B, which is about the only Subaru that does hold its cash and goes up in price.

I think STi Type R's will go up maybe £15k-20k for a mint example in another 10/15 years but nothing like the Cosworths are at now as some people think, Your usual 4 door classics UK and JDM wont see that much of a price hike in years to come as there not that special, a 2 door Impreza is special as there was no other like it in the newage shape.

As for newage Impreza's, I cant really see them going to wild on price, I think Spec C's, S202, JDM models etc will command a bit of a premium as they do now and enthusiasts like ourselves on here are the reason why the newage JDM prices are so high as there in such demand at the moment, but I cant see them being in demand or as desirable in another 10 years!!

Be interesting to see the prices of Impreza's in the next 10/15/20 years, and I wonder how many of us will be on ScoobyNet. Obviously these prices etc are all my own opinion as I know some will disagree, but having not owning any of the above cars now, I have a less biased view!!!

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that we'll start seeing silly money for turbo 2000s, but as the American 25 year rule starts hitting, the early jdm cars prices will start to go through the roof - like there's been on the r32 skylines. This will surely then filter down the models as they become more and more scarce.

The American thing has already started to happen which is why prices in Japan have started to increase, 2/3 years ago you could get a Type R for £3k now they're double that, the RA's, S202's have also gone up significantly in the last couple of years.

I think in as little as 5yrs a reasonable condition Type R will be £10k and once prices to convert them to LHD start to come down they'll go up even more, then there will be the 30yr rule for places like where I am in Croatia which will see another price rise, right now it's silly money to get one registered over here and I suspect it's the same for many other places too.

We really are very lucky in the UK.

For me it is not about the money it is about the fact i like my 1998 uk turbo,1999RB5 and 2000 P1 and if they are worth a lot of money in 15 years time it really will not affect me as i am likely to be in heaven so that is giving a hint of my age.(i do have 2 sons so maybe they will see the outcome).
