Default 1994 WRX OR WRX STI

Could someone help me on this issue please, I recently bought a 1994 WRX Import and i've used type ra and other sites to figure out exactly what model i have. The applied model code GC8B48D matches to a 1994 WRX a 1994 WRX RA and a 1994 WRX STI Version. Now along with that body code on my vin plate the Engine type is EJ20GDW2HE and transmission type is TY752VB3CA and all these codes combined only match to a WRX STI car. Can anyone else confirm this?

It's a WRX. You shouldn't see that model code showing as an RA on our database though.

Thanks for the response although the STI engine code on the link doesn't match the STI code on the type RA site on the gc8 time line

Take engine codes with a pinch of salt. Subaru often did some strange things in the early days and you'll sometimes find an engine code in a car that shouldn't be.

I'm sure Matty is right.

As far as I can remember the 1994 WRX GC8B48D was made on production line then modified afterwards to to make a STi/ RA etc. They RA's and STi's were not made on the production line on there own right until v2/v3

Sti GC8B48D 250 First appearance of STi, modified from off production WRX
Sti V1 GF8B58D 250 5 door modified from off production vehicle.
Sti V1 RA GC8C47D 275 4 door Modified from off production
Sti V2 GC8C4ED 275 4 door First STi full production

IMHO
