Default Newage intercooler on a classic?

I've been given an APS huge intercooler by a friend and its off his Blobeye.

I know a newage STI intercooler will fit a classic, i'm just not sure how.

What brackets do I need (classic or newage) and how much fabricating is needed? Welding etc is no problem.

Mines a V5 Type R so I may need a dump valve adaptor to avoid the coilpack.

Any help/pics appreciated

And yes, the car will be mapped for it once fitted, I'm just putting all the ingredients together, finally.

Search for Carl davey newage intercooler onto classic

As there is more than cutting and welding as the coil pack has to move down on the studs as well

I've got a jti coilpack conversion to go on it, so the coilpack isnt much of a problem, its more the mounting/brackets and whats involved.

I'll do a search, thanks

Clutch master cylinder fluid pot needs cut down by 20mm
Bracket at turbo extended
Hose between intercooler and throttle body needs cut down
Coil pack needs reduced by 10mm in height

I fitted a newage Sti intercooler to my last Scoob, a MY00 UK Classic.Looking back, in my opinion it would probally have been easier to fit a front mount due to the lack of space. Steve.

I know the aps tmic is good but for the sake of hasstle, wouldn't it be easier just fitting a fmic? You will get heat from engine with tmic as apposed to being front mounted.
A hybrid gt2 fmic would be better IMO.

I am a mechanical fitter by trade but I found it a pig of a job to do. I even had to put spacers on the intercooler brackets to clear the coil pack. My advice is go for a front mount which will also benefit you if you,re going to uprate your engine power. Steve.

Is the hybrid GT2 not the same kit the late Harvey promoted and sold as one of the best FMIC kit's available?

Is a pain in the Arsenal to do. You need to cut down the reservoir, cut down the coil pack legs, ensure you get the brackets from the new age and under tray. You have to fabricate a pipe coming from the dump valve recirc. I modified all my brackets and fabricated the dump valve pipe and it fitted amazingly well - however took so much time to ensure it did not foul the bonnet and rub on the rear bracket that to be honest I wished I had just put front mount on. To be honest unless you going over 330bhp I would not bother.
