Default Wanted - Subaru Forester STI

Hello! I've currently got an Audi A3 (2.0t, quattro, lightly chipped), i'm discovering i need a bit more space (kids, bless em), so i'm looking at 2nd gen Scooby Foresters. The going rate seems to be about 10k for a nice one, is that about right? Let me know!!

Prodrift UK have a few fresh import SG9 Foggy's at £8995. Similarly Torque GT have them in on a regular basis. The space is not that great and will probably be about the same as the A3.

I have had one so I do know. My choice for the extra space would be a BL/BP Legacy Spec B GT JDM as I had one of them too.

Thanks The Trooper, it's not just the space (though one us site claims 20 cubic feet for the a3 vs 30 for the Forester) in the boot but the raised ride height and site lines for my little girl who suffers from car sickness. I'd prefer the Legacy but it's a fairly low car.

In that case get a Foggy. Grunty, stealthy and many bits from the Impreza Blob/Bug fit. Don't get too harsh a suspension set up, don't lower it, just enjoy the ride.

Octavia Scout plus remap ?

Raised ground clearance, huge boot, decent economy. Well equipped if you're prepared to search for the right one. 2.0TDI or the later 1.8T which remaps just as well as the 2.0T in yours. Same Haldex 4x4 as the A3

Just a thought. Driven a few.

This sort of thing (this doesn't have nav or alcantara which are available) ?

Do they suffer from the same 2.5 engine failures as the Impreza?

My old one is now on 130k + miles and as been gassed as well. They do not have the same issues and the JDM 2.5 spec engine as been in production much longer - circa 2003.

Nice one, almost as rare as the sti forester! Another one to add to the list!

Newera are very pricey compared to the other importers. There stock is not any better or exclusive.
The later models also incur the higher RFL bracket but if you are worried about it then a Subaru is not for you.

I would wholeheartedly recommend a Forester STi, they are great cars and a realy good alternative to an Impreza STi.

The cabin is better, the gearing (I believe) is longer, plenty of load space plus rear passenger room and there is very little road noise due to the sound proofing in the car.

The RFL is not the problem, more that it's close to 2.5 k more than even Litchfield prepared uk cars.

If you import through say torque as a personal import it's cheaper by around £1000

That's been for sale for 1.5-2 years, way overpriced for a standard car, it does look mint though.

The gearing being longer is a myth, the gearing is the same as a 2.5 hawkeye.

I miss mine
