Smile Looking to buy

Hi there I am new to this scooby site hi to all
can anyone help please
I am looking to buy a 2002 wrx tubo saloon for sale @ £3999 vgc 72000 fsh and cambelt changed at 56000
Reg number DK02OAW does anyone know of this car and offer any advice
I have had a quick look as not had much time but going back to have a good look later today
But I did notice that when I tried the clutch bite it seemed a bit high (about half way up) is this ok as I not tried one before so wondered if it might need new clutch, if so how much would a new clutch cost me supply and fit ? And does anyone know where I can get this done I also noticed that the engine management light stopped on and I have read this can be down to numerous problems although the garage said he would get it checked out for me
Can any one recommend someone to carry our a vehicle inspection (car is in Stourbridge / dudley area) thought about asking rac are these ok with car checks ?
Any help or be advice would be really appreciated
Thanks
Miller

According to my "source", you could expect to see that car with that mileage with a sticker price of between £3,880 and £4,290 at a dealer if it was in good condition.

As a part exchange the dealer is likely to have paid around £2,000-£2,500. If I liked the car and the service history is present and correct, I'd play on that trade-in price and offer him £3,500 with the faults sorted and an extended warranty in writing on the clutch.

If he won't budge, shop around. You can always contact him again in a week or two to see if he's changed his mind. There will be others for sale and I'd suggest look at a few before committing yourself.

seems a little to expensive , i just bought my 02 wrx for £3200 good history, cambelt and clutch just done has 101k on the clock though but engine is sweet as a nut . There is one in the for sale section on here for £3800 with a scoobyclinic engine rebuild and lots of other extras might be worth a look as he was selling this a while back for around £4500 , could be a good buy

Do you think it would be wise to get a rac vehicle check on it ? Or does any one know of any one in the wolverhampton / dudley / Stourbridge area they can recommend

Thanks miller

Superbracey thanks for post
Car is in very good condition for year just needs a little paint on front spoiler only light mark just a bit to much to t,cut will need paint but the garage said they will do this it has fsh and cambelt done around the 52000 mark. The engine sounds good The only thing I would question is the clutch just seemed a little high to me (about 1/2 way) so not sure if this is the norm or should the bite point be lower ?
Thanks miller

Have a look at this guy's ebay site - Redsqurriel (spelt like that!). Its called MDK Motors.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/redsqurrie...1&_ipg=&_from=

He usually has a few Scoobys in and he's about 30 miles from you (Stoke).

I've no affiliation with the garage, but this time last month I was looking for my first Impreza. I went round a few places then ended up buying one from this guy. I liked the fact the cars were well presented, had good history with them AND he gave me the keys to three so that I could compare them side by side and test drive them all.

It might of helped that I wasn't wearing my Burberry hat and Nike trackie but I was very happy to buy from him and he seemed genuinely helpful without any of the pressure sales technique. I'm just hoping I don't get a load of replies on here telling me he's part of Cheshire Performance!

Me too looked at cars from Cheshire some looked quite good just go's to show how deceiving looks can be I been looking on the site you mention but he only got a couple at the moment and both quite high milers would prefer something with a bit lower miles although the scoobys seem to be ok with high miles especially if they been looked after

Cheers miller
