Default Dipped after that drunken order

Hey Guys,

anyone that saw my last thread will know i ordered some pasti dip while under the influence of alchol.

I dipped it a few weeks ago but ive had the car sat in the Garage since and i needed some Sun light so i could see the Colour flip effect.

The car is full of grime and dust so the effect will be better once cleaned and once the summer comes and the sun is higher hopefully will have more of a change effect.

however here are a couple of pictures of the car and depending on the screen your looking at these from you should hopefully see the effect, (looks noticable on my iphone 6 screen, looks bland on my laptop screen)

Like the colour - nice to see something that bit different...and it doesnt have any garish spoilers etc...so doesnt look like its trying to be something it isnt...

Be good to see some close ups

Cheers man, not bad this plasti dip stuff

Yeah will get better pics when the light is better and I have washed it, hard to get the colour showing on pictures.

No never decided to add the vortex, roof spoiler etc, as you say don't want it to look like something it's not and only paid £60 for the car and I use it as a bit of a hobby with a few engine mods, map and rear spoiler

Fun car though but not a daily driver or even much of a weekend driver so it's good to throw a little money at every now and then to keep it interesting

Plasti dip is great stuff, had a play with it on my BM and Merc - grills etc....love the fact it can withstand the pressure washer and day to day driving, yet peel off when I want to change it.

Be careful adjusting the colour on the entire car though completely and the impact on your v5 - not sure if it will cause you issues with respect to insurance etc if you haven’t declared it....

Best I can do? I don't need to do any better, you are the guy who made a big statement about selling up and getting the top secret car... GTR and then not getting it hahahaha, do you walk around with a big plank of wood attached to your back?

Ruined with plasti dip? Again the plank inside your head isn't telling you it peels off.....

How long did it take you to do the car ?
Did you remove bumpers , bonnet , boot , doors etc etc

Looks like it's worked well for you , can't say I'm a fan of the colour tho , looks like the colour they used to use on the two/tone MGZ ha ha

No mate you just spray away and peel what you don't want it covering, there are loads of guides on YouTube on how to plasti dip, covering lights and windows makes life easier

And the cost of the gun etc is £160 and then dip etc will cost you 150-200 obviously less depending on quantity you buy, depending on colour and how many layers you put on etc

Then to remove it just peals off, think of it like rubber

Don't even know how to respond to you? You just dribble on each thread you write in, not to mention you already posted in this one

Yet you posted again for attention? Maybe plentyoffish or something would be good for you? My little attention craver, cute that you wanted a response though <3

That is certainly different... growing on me the more I look at it.

My knowledge of plasti dip is minimal, a friend showed me a clip of someone in the states doing their audi in matte black so I'm a little more interested in the idea as it comes in different colours.

What is the finish like? Is there a good selection of colours?

Im fully aware what plastidip is,it's what chavs use to ruin old sheds with as they can't afford a real paintJob.
As for the GTR,it was a car I considered.
What I actually bought was a mitsubishi lancer.
Pop over to mlr and look up my username

Go to https://www.dipyourcar.com/ thats the best site i have found to see the colours, then you can order from http://www.matt-pack.co.uk/ as thats a UK distributor, plenty of other dealers in the UK though.

There is all kinds of finishes to be honest

if you look at these guys videos on yourtube you can see pretty much every dip they sell and show you how they apply it all etc to there standard:

The video I watched mentioned it is also good for protecting the car from chips, etc is this right?

I wouldn't go as far as saying it is for chavs wanting to ruin their car Mr Thomas... if it will protect the paint work then I would certainly use it throughout the winter months

Don't worry about him, f1 and trinity they just post crap for there own entertainment, must sit there day in and day out posting crap on forums while the wife and kids sitting there neglected etc while they sit there and smile at themselfs must be great

Yeah it protects the cars paint work as its like a rubber coating, could be worth it for you to buy a spray can for £15-20 and spray it on something then you can see the texture and colour etc

There is standing out, and then there is looking like a prune driving down the road.

What would I do? Buy a car in the colour i like and spend my time and money on other bits. Im not saying wrapping is bad, but that colour is quite honestly, horrific. But you'll fit in at the Maccy D drive through well good!

Even the purple or the blue, but not a 1990's flip.
