Major Service
Hi,
I have a unmodified 2005 WRX PPP with 48k miles. As its coming upto it's 10th birthday it's due a cambelt change.
The question is do I replace the tensioners/idlers as well? I've not had any issues with the cambelt or engine, just wondering if the tensioners/idlers might need changing bearing in mind the next replacement cambelt would be another 5 years away.
Any other items that might need looking at age wise? It's still on the original fuel pump for example...

It's all peace of mind, you would be gutters if one failed after just changing the belt, I Personaly would change the pump to a upgraded one again for the cost and ease to fit. Are you planning in keeping for a while? My classic doesn't make much financial sense but I aim never to sell it so I may be over cautious.
I don't plan on selling the car anytime soon and odds on I might even have it 5 years from now when the cambelt needs doing again then.
I'd rather err on the side of caution so will probably get the idlers/tensioners done as well. As for the fuel pump I'm not sure, the car does pretty low mileage (1200 miles in the last 5 months) so might leave that as is.
