Default Audi ttrs convertible.

Just thought I would post my thoughts on this car. A mate of mine from work has just bought one (in white) and I always thought of the Audi tt as a hairdressers car but after both of us going for a blast today I must say it's quite a good little car. Went out in his car for half hour or so around town and on the open road and it's quick and very refined, we then both went for a spin me in my Blobeye STI and him in his Audi and I was surprised even though my car was quicker my opinions on the tt have changed, just wish it was sunny to get the roof down and give my bald head some winter sun lol.

What mods are you running?

The TTRS is a very quick car.

Agreed with TNG - the TTRS is very quick. With just a remap they are pretty mental.

My mates is standard he only bought it today so it's 350bhp not sure what power they run when mapped but its a nice place to be when driving around and when pushing on, my mods are for me to know lol, but it's enough to go past and pull away from the Audi but the power delivery is completely different it's got me thinking about maybe getting one and keeping the Scooby also.

Apparently over 400bhp mapped. But they appear to be really strong on Torque and have great traction.

0-60 in 3.6
0-100 in 8.5

Reportedly.

You'd need some grunt in a Blobeye to better that imo.

Hopefully he won't find that out and I won't be telling him lol, I'm just surprised how much I liked it.

A revo mapped tt-rs is one of the most fun cars I've driven.
Just soo much torque at any rev.
Really surprising they aren't more popular.

Pippyrips who attends some of the SWS meeting as a TTRS Coupe with a tweak. It is fewking quick and will show a clean set of heels to a mildly modded STi.

Rob the erstwhile owner of my car. I take it he's dispensed with the GTR.

Not sure this is about ***** waving mate, just a genuine question in respect of your mods I suspect.

I haven't got a problem with that question being asked, but just because someone doesn't want to list their mods there is no need for the sarcastic comment of "standard sti then". I was just commenting how nice a car the ttrs is and maybe ***** waving was the wrong expression to use and I should of choose my words with a little more thought as I will proceed to do next time.

I just had a look at these and seriously considering the coupe

Mtm has one kit that puts it output to 466 bhp and tops out at 194 mph

Anyone wanting to by a Hawkeye lol

Ask Leottrs he'll tell you how good they are for carrying clients around in...not sure if he was a hairdresser or a prostitute though, anyone else remember him and his attempted troll a few years back, lol.

Something is going **** up with the dyno reading I'd suggest. It's got more humps in it then a camel. Issue with Haldex on the dyno perhaps.

*IF* he achieved a real 500ftlb he would have to be running major boost for that peak torque, and since his figures are near 100ftlb more than other "just mapped" cars, but his peak power is about what you'd expect for a remap only, I suspect inaccuracies in that dyno run.

It would be interesting to know what he has actually had done, as that would clarify things further.
