Default Noise and bit of performance

Hey, I created a post awhile back but had some real life issues to sort out but I'm back now.

Just after some advice, I am looking to spend around £1500, not really too interested in the extra power it's more about the noise im after, as chavy as it sounds I'm far from it.

I want to get a nur spec R, do I get a turbo back or just cat back ? 2.5" or 3" ? Also would like to get a remap if I'm going turbo back. From what I've read, this Duncan from race dynamix seems to be decent for remap. Am I withing budget if I want a turbo back with remap ?

Any other suggestions are welcome

Thanks

Nur-spec is loud and I mean make your ears bleed loud lol, but if that's what you want then you can't get louder, turbo back would be louder but will bring you problems come mot time unless you have a friendly mot guy. Open source map with Duncan around £400 and well worth it top bloke and knows his stuff. Look for a second hand exhaust and then even with the remap you will have money to spare to make it even louder lol.

I think the Nur Spec is the best looking and sounding exhaust you can put on an Impreza.

Hey, I think just a turbo back will make it loud enough with nur spec r. If it's not then I'll look into making it louder. I recently found a friendly mot guy, 2 actually. If I have enough spare will look into getting some mud flaps and maybe a bov

Thanks

£1500 will be enough

full decat exhaust will see the best gains coupled with a decent panel filter, fuel pump and remap.. I did the same on my old bugeye wrx and went from 215bhp to just under 280bhp, don't know what car you have though?

I also had the NurSepc r which is a 2 piece cat back 3" and to be honest I found it too loud on long trips.. I also had the NurSpec S which is backbox only and 2.5" that wasn't as loud.

Gonna go with nur spec r decat back. What panel filter and fuel pump did you go with ?

I have blobeye wrx. Thanks for the heads up about long journeys being loud, appreciated :-)

when it was mapped the exhaust system was 2.5" I fitted a walbro fuel pump and I went for the STi panel filter

again second hand is the way forward.. especially for the exhaust.. try the usual ebay ect and stick an ad in the wanted section on here, or try the like of japperformance, scoobyworld, scoobyparts, scoobyworld, scoobyclinic all have websites and all dedicated to the impreza and jap cars.. think I would choose any of those over demon tweeks price wise

Honestly, you will get bored of it very quickly and so will neighbours. We have a guy with an insanely loud exhaust that keeps driving past our house at 5am on full chat.
All my neighbours keep saying why can't he have an exhaust like mine, which is a ninjas 2, straight through centre and sports cat.

Yes, it's a bit loud, but not silly loud. Trust me, loud sounds fun and it will be, for about a week!

Not so much a friend but a guy that lives local to me was running the rcm for a while. It would set car alarms off everywhere, he got rid in the end as he found it too embarrassing! Sounded ace though

If it's loud you want, Scoobyworld have revived the Afterburner Extreme. Mate that to a full decat system with a 3" bore and that should be silly loud.

Probably one of the stupidest questions on this forum, but I'm gonna have to ask it :-(

I have the standard exhaust system apart from a pro drive back box, I want to get nur spec 3", decat back, I'm sure the standard system is all 2.5" ? Do I need to change the whole system from turbo back or can I get a fitting to bolt the new 3" to the standard system so it's standard from turbo then from decat back its 3" ? If that makes sense :-/

Thanks
