yep. Going by the number plate it looks to be an import, so most likely a GTB twin turbo.

Almost happened to mine a few years back

 

Certainly in rural areas older Legacys are one of the most common criminal cars. AWD capability and take a lot of abuse and bashing around off road. Also sturdy, quick and loads of room for stolen stuff. Look fairly boring too so nobody bats an eye at a muddy one lurking around. Police diesel focus's and astras have no chance off road.

And in fiction I have noticed every time I have the misfortune to see a soap the "bad boy" always drives a modified Impreza.... lol.

 

When I lived in student halls in Manchester, the little Asian shop on the ground floor of the block at Medlock House was ram raided by a Subaru.

It made for a very entertaining evening!

 

About 10 years ago near me, they ram raided a newsagents in a Evo 6, then stacked it on the Birmingham New Rd after being chased by the police, all I could remember was driving past and seeing cigarettes all over the road, and a Evo 6 on its roof!!
