Default Newbie Exhaust help!!

Hi Guys,

I bought a Saloon yesterday and already spent all day ripping it apart.
Now onto the exhaust...

It seems to be a straight pipe, with only one join in the middle, all the way up to the engine.

Now,

I used to love loud cars. I had a 350z with a japspeed K1, if any of you guys know what that is then youll know its fricking loud!!

Anyways, My girlfriend is 7 months pregnant and got this as a 'Sensible family car'.....ish....

But exhaust needs to go. I've already got a standard back box. My question is, i assume i need a standard centre pipe, but what about between that and the engine? i dont get all this uppipe/downpipe stuff..

i understand you probably need pictures to understand what im seeing... so ill go take some now!

From my eyes (without jacking the car up) it looks as it consists of 2 parts, the rear box and centre pipe as 1. then a join under where the drivers seat would be roughly. then on pipe all the way up to the turbo?

is this right or shall i just pull out the trolley jack...

Think u will find its just

Back box
Center section
Down pipe

Fairly sure its the same layout as a classic impreza on the bug

Ur uppipe is between ur exhaust manifold and turbo

Mine has a one piece prodrive system ,,,, seems rare so im told but its on there , i see in paperwork the prodrive backbox was replaced early on due to splitting so maybe it ended up with an oddball item - anyway my prodrive backbox and center section is all one piece - maybe thats what the op has but tbh mine isnt too loud at all unless you give it the beans and then its still probably not quite loud enough

To my mind, even the prodrive exhaust were 3 piece system, usually with the just the back box being the 'upgrade' over standard.

Never seen a one piece prodrive system in 10 years of being in and around the Impreza fold.

Agreed, that isn't a standard prodrive option.

a standard bug wrx has 100% a 4 section system, and the prodrive wrx is also a 4 section system
