Question

uhmm, what's it for then? I've looked in the manual and can't find anything.

Can anyone point me to an information source?

It's ure pad for the Sigma cat 1 alarm/immob that was standard from MY99? ish.
Should have a 4 digit pin for manually unlocking it if ure remote gets lost/fubared

Correct.
Info. won't be in the Subaru users manual.

You should have a booklet/leaflet for your alarm which tells you how to operate it as well as two metallic stickers with your PIN no. on them.

You can also 'program' a few features on the alarm. See here......

Tried turning on "chirps" last night.

Didn't like it - it's the same sound as the mini klaxon (sp?) you get if you open your boot with the key forgetting to de-activate the alarm. (MY00 U.K. Sigma alarm)

Not too appealing, and probably attracts too much unwanted attention.

Oh well....
