Default New guy near hull

Hi guys, just wanted to introduce myself, I'm shaun, from hull but living in howden now, I own a 1993 supra n/a and now bought myself a 1994 wrx import, I don't know much about the car to be honest I literally bought it yesterday morning. All I know is, it's a wrx import, has been fitted with 4 pots recently, adjustable coilovers, I believe rota rims. Strut brace up front and a straight through system (which caused it to fail mot yesterday). It's not got a boost controller, no turbo timer just totally standard.
My supra:

My scooby:

Welcome on board suprashep. Looks a nice clean rust free example so enjoy. Not sure about the black bonnet and door details but thats personal preference i suppose and i'm probably just getting too old for that sort of look - i like em clean and stock. From the Hull area myself so i'll look out for you.

Hi mate and welcome along.

The car didn't fail on emissions did it?
I'm not an expert but I thought imports (well my MY95 WRX anyway) had 'emissions exempt' (or something like that) on the V5?

Mine went through 2 MoTs without (emissions) trouble.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the car.

nice clean example, would look miles better if you removed the flat black vinyl and the shopping lists from the doors though imo.

interesting supra too, not a fan of the bodykit or wheels but you don't see many of them around our area, i'm only a stones throw away in the Pocklington area.

Ey up guys yeah was emissions funnily enough, totally screwed me over as I work in Thorne, now no car for work. I've heard a million mixed stories about emissions and mine being a 94import apparently should have been tested different to a UK spec impreza. But the tester says different. Failed it on a tyre he said was ok, and my rear fog not working which it does. So I've shelled out for a test for nothing. Just to take it elsewhere and pay again
Yeah the vinyl will be coming off and probably the shopping list too lol
As for supra, it had a full veilside kit which was very poorly damaged so opted for a mix of 3 kits but the rims are on for the sake of driving to mot until I get my tyres for my 18" staggered deep dish

Ok... So now I have my scooby.....
And this will have been covered a million times with new members....
But what would you say (knowing this is my first turbo) should I get to keep the car in best running order? I.E boost controller, turbo timer etc not looking to up its bhp really as its a daily driver and fuel costs on a turbo and a 3.0 supra are costing enough
Just after general things to save me shafting the car up. I honestly have NO idea where to start on a turbo
Cheers guys n gals

Friend of mine had it with his WRX.
I told him to check his V5 AND point it out to the tester.

He went elsewhere, and it passed, no probs.
Obviously some MoT stations aren't up to speed.

Cheers guys I'll bare that in mind, just run it as i would any other car but give it a minute warm up and cool down?
I admit I totally went into buying one, blindly. But wanted one for years, love my supra to bits but these are world's apart.
But this is why I'll be asking (probably to you guys) stupid questions if I can't find the thread I need. U guys seem totally helpful too which I appreciate greatly
