Default 03 blobeye wagon rear foglamp delete

Hi all
Has anyone removed the red section out of the rear foglamp and installed a red bulb to replace it so it's clear, the same as the LH lamp. Do you just heat up the rear light and splt it the same way you detango the front lamps?

I looked at this with my bug when I brought it over from the UK...
fog lamp needed changing over to LHS..
the rears need to be cut open, they dont open up when heated like the fronts.

in the end i ordered a Euro LHS rear cluster so i now have clear lenses both sides and a red led bulb.
it does look much better.

Where did you order the LHS rear lamp w/ the fog lamp from? I need one for my 05 blobeye saloon.

Good question nardoblue and very good call Viktor!

I have an 05 wagon and was wondering what the JDM rear clusters look like as I much prefer the JDM blob saloon rears.

Google translate is your friend on ebay, but...

a quick search on German ebay brings up rear single clusters @ €150+€30 delivery, €210+€20 on Spanish ebay, €120+€30 on French, so £120 cheapest, delivered. Not a cheap mod.

Might worth asking your local Subaru dealer if they can order these

Has anyone got any idea if the Blob and Hawk wagon rear clusters are the same fitment??
They look identical but I don't wanna risk any water ingress..

The saloons are interchangeable so I would assume the wagons are as well.

No probs.

Instead of having a plain red bulb I've ordered a set of these red LED wedges as well:

Looking good! Did that LED bulb you ordered fit mate? I thought they were the wedge type like I ordered above^.

I'm going to try some tint film on the rear lights as well.

That looks great mate, really freshens up the rear
Did you buy the light cluster from the link above? Thought that was for saloon or am I being silly?
Also have you got flaps fitted to the car?

Did you use the bulbs type from the manual? I've found that the only way to be sure of bulb types is to physically check them. Anyway got there in the end.

Yeah used the exact link above for the lamp, it fits a wagon, can't comment on weather it will fit a saloon though,

Just a heads for anyone using the above red LED I recommended, I've decided to order a more powerful LED that is equivalent to 30w output. I found that the above bulb was no brighter than the rear lights and not as bright as the brake or fog light.

Pic of what I ordered

These are about £20 pair
