Default Whats the difference...........

Between a 5 speed box up to 2005 (late blob I believe) and a 2005 onwards box in regards to clutch? What changed on the box?

Another forum member is looking for a clutch for a 5 speed hawk wrx and has the exedy pink box clutch in mind, but when looking it says only fits to 2005 so what's the difference?

Reference taken from Aztecs website:-

Fitment: ALL Subaru Impreza Turbo Models using a 5 speed gearbox including UK, JDM, WRX, STi, Ra, Type R, RB5 etc (up to 2005, 2005 onwards uses different clutch)

I've looked at a few now and not found one listed specifically for that year car.

Anybody shed any light on it please?

Also what other clutch's are people running on the later 2.5 wrx. He's on standard turbo with plans to upgrade to vf43 later down the line.

Cheers

Think the post 05 clutches are pull type and the earlier ones are push type, or vice versa

So are the clutch plates physically different on diameter?

I can understand the differences now I've just done some digging. There are people wanting to do conversions as there does not seem to be a lot of available upgrades for a 2005> push type so I can understand the complete kit wouldn't work, but apart from the push & pull kits, are the clutch plates and pressure plates physically different? Not exactly a great idea not doing the lot whilst there but if he wanted to do that route would it work?

Or what Alternatives are there, not exactly a lot of options for the later 5 speed boxes out there, and what exedy do list on the website are all showing out of stock

Sorry if I seem thick but I don't have this problem owning an sti :P

Any body

Sorry I've not a clue, but since you're up all night.....

Hello.

On an educated guess I say the 05 one was still ok.
