I havnt no....kinda seeing how I do with them. Under heavy compression, like a county road etc, they lightly scrape so I think its something I am going to attend to.

Wheels are brand new 2 weeks ago I bought them along with the Toyo's, didn't like the Rays that were on it. Bri fit them for me and he still has his XXR's on his spec C, in flat bronze. Yer John had it previously, posted up on the LADSOC think I have seen you on there.

A little work done today....all on the computer

Purchased, new air filter, the inner wing mounted one whilst I have just cleaned it, thought I would replace it with a brand spanker. Ordered some thermal header tank spacers, a cold air feed pipe x 2 for the air filter and the oil cooler and also got some aircraft style switch covers (have flicked the anit lag on inadvertently a couple of times

next weekends jobs sorted

Where did you get your long intake pipe with the MAF sensor fitment? I cant find one anywhere. I have a similar set up with the air filter inside the wing whilst using a FMIC. I had to use a joiner section and it I would like to tidy it up.

So as I was pulling all the stereo stuff out the boot yesterday I also decided to do a few bits under the bonnet, just some tidy up things really.

I took the FMIC visable pipework off, cleaned it and painted it with high temp aluminium paint. Also did the turbo heat shield.

Whilst doing this I replaced the MAF pipe with a standard pipe as the MAF is useless anyway. I blew the air filter out again also whilst it was off and cleaned a couple of bolts and clamps up.

This mornings jobs,
  • Fit a new larger filter
  • cold air feeds to the filter and the oil cooler
  • Fit aircraft style carbon covers for my map and anti lag switches
Since I got the car I was worried about the size of the filter. Just appeared a little small and restrictive to me, that said its produced the power and Andy Carr said it wasn't an issue. However sometimes you have to do your own thing so have swapped these:-

Here is the kit I ordered online:-

Fitting the filter was awkward, ended up jacking the car right up, turning the wheel to the right and removing all the wing liner. then had to make a few 'adjustments' to the inner wing by way of removing a couple of redundant brackets etc. Finally got it fitted and then reattached all the top piping I had to remove to give me adjustment.

Next I measured the cold air inlet and marked this out on the bumper fog covers, cut them out and fitted them using my hot glue gun. Then fit matching mesh to my front grill to stop any large stones etc getting through

Then for the cold air feed pipe, measured this out and made a bracket to hold the pipe at the filter and the oil cooler. Job done!

Thanks bud

I am sure it will all help Andrew come remap day.

I am considering reverse manifold cant really decide but if not I am going to get Andy to do a map tweak as I have fiddled with a couple of things since August and going to get a roller print with the meth map as it hasn't been on them since that was added.

Todays jobs:-
  • When I painted the I/C pipes I noticed the CAI pipe was rubbing on the inner wing. So I purchased some door edge protector (2m) from fleabay, Cut and secured it around the opening edge. Should work a treat as its fairly thick rubber so will protect the pipe.
  • Changed the plugs as part of my winter service. Grade 7's out, and the same going back in. Apparently they were done 6 months ago but just put my mind at ease knowing has a fresh set as considering a map tweak shortly.
  • Emptied the oil catch can (was empty!)
  • I/C and water pipe clamp check (went round with the screwdriver checking tightness).
  • Levels check (all ok)
  • Tidied a few wires with tie wraps under the drivers side dash
  • Cleaned (brush wheel on the drill) and WD40 earth connectors round the engine.
  • Anti freeze mix check (all fine, pretty strong mix!)
Oh and finally nearly forgot................took the thing for a blast
