Default identifying block type

hi does anyone know how to identify what block your running with without cyl head removal,i have a v3 sti and was wondering what block i have in mine

Under the alternator if there is cross hatchings then its closed deck, if not then its an open deck block.

What about the semi closed deck?

dont come till newages, yours will be an open deck, cdb only on v1/2
