Default Projecting Breaking my 480bhp WRX

OK guys i'm going to do something a little bit different which i haven't seen on here. Welcome to the project that is breaking my 480 WRX.
As some of you will have seen in this thread https://www.scoobynet.com/full-cars-...6-6-speed.html it is coming up to the breaking date for my WRX, this is a start to finish story.
The car has been up for sale a few times before but finally on the 30th of December i bit the bullet and put up the final breaking thread after an offer from my best friend to help my strip and sort the car. Now breaking a car is more than just taking parts into it which is what this thread is for. its 2 weeks after i put the thread up and if you look at the other thread you'll see how much has sold. To date i have exchanged 318 PM's about breaking it. This is where a large amount of time is spent, i've still got more PM's to sort and prices to update as it truely is a never ending task. I spent alot of time trying to sort the general spec of the car and some guessing at figures, the one thing still out standing is postage. Postage in my view is the single worse part of it which is why my preference is collection. Postage is never the less a necessary evil although i will loose several days waiting for parcels to be collected. Anyway last sunday was the first major step towards the car been broken but before that this is how the car looked:

Some time was spent before the car was broken taking a few people out on runs to show what the car could do when they were looking at several parts and thank you to those who took the time and effort to come and see it, was a pleasure meeting you all and hope you enjoyed it.

Anyway Sunday a late decision was made to take the car to its location for breaking. Queue a journey that should take 40 minutes taking 2 hours and 15 minutes. Anyway a long journey later we arrive and the car is now deposited at its final location.

While the repairs to the 206 were underway i started a light bit of removal on the bay of some of the smaller components such as battery, water tray, catch can etc. No pictures of this yet but i'll update as we go along.

Something i had to consider is i'm breaking it away from my home address, for this i've hired a Van which i pick up on friday before breakdown really starts friday evening and this coming weekend.

So far this is just a brief outline with alot of hours of planning and prep spent making sure everything is in place. A big thank you to a few guys who have helped out with various bit, My best friend who is helping me along with the guys up there, Mark AKA Black Widow for helping solve some of shipping problems and H from WMI for some sound advice as always.

I'll grab various pictures along the way and try and update the thread when i get a bit of downtime each day from my phone hopefully otherwise hopefully people can see the time spent and effort to privately break a car. Hopefully some of you will enjoy reading and those buying will enjoy seeing the progress and car coming apart along with just how much comes off it. Anyway thats it for now.

Oh and my first update, removed the tax disc as the shell will probably go off to be weighed in as scrap metal, The form is slightly confusing but disc was sent off this morning, its not alot but i'll get 2 month's tax back which is better than nothing. Its surprising how much all the little bits and pieces add up on a car when taking it apart.

Scrap metal? I'd imagine someone would bite your hand off for a shell and V5, there's plenty of shells on Ebay.
Whats your long term plans? Have you got another scoob?

That was a bit of a Surprise James, getting a mention, no worries, your WMI family, the thread is going to be interesting, you can tell you feel very passionate about it, at least you know a bit of your car is going to live on in other peoples cars Including The Widow

Fingers crossed H, hopefully if anything it will show how you have to go around these things if your taking it seriously and putting the effort it,

Just talking to you helped Mark as i was getting a bit down with it all before our chat, Now i'm looking forward to getting into it and its good to know that a fair amount of the car is staying local and all of it on scoobynet still!

Right update, Collect the van tomorrow from the rental company but also before work today i had some deliveries into the currently very empty garage, a stack of boxes ready to pack up the rear lights etc for shipping, a big roll of bubble wrap to wrap the wheels are there been shipped internationally and some pallet wrap ready to wrap the box and associated bits ready for delivery to Scotland. Also taking a bit of time trying to research some of the loom so the heating functions on the car seats will work with another car much like retro fitting folding mirrors from what i can see.
