Default HELP engine conversion it wont start

i have a 1999 full uk turbo(distributor type on top of inlet) the engine has died so i bought a written off 2001 wrx (single coil packs)i then took the inlet manifold of my 99 and fitted it too the wrx engine
I then plumbed and connected everything back together and it wont start is there any simple solution why this will not work or will it????
engine turns over but wont fire
is the timing the same????
obviously in the morning i will check everything i have done thoroughly but now unsure if this is even going to work
can anybody help has anyone ever tried this or anything simular before any information would be much appreciated

Thumbs up

You need to do several checks if the engine is turning then you need to check if there is any fuel goin to the engine, check if you have sparks, then check the timing, i did change my engine on my 97 sti import and had similar issue but was sorted with new fuel pump.
Run trough all the conection make sure you have connected everything.

Good luck and keep us posted

not sure what years this affects, but the wiring from the ECU to the sensors etc. changed so some wires need swapping round. That may be the case if you are using all the sensors and ancillaries from the 2001 motor?

That's strange as the trigger patterns on the pulleys should be identical.

Atleast you got it going
