Default AdeyCorp's Red Type-RA Standard Project - Part 1

Evening guys

Here is the first part of my winter project, which is to return this Subaru Impreza WRX Type-RA in red back to complete standard.

I brought it from a guy in chesterfield, he was selling her close to christmas as he need some cash for his kids gifts. When I test drove her she was as a sweet as a nut, no bangs or rattles. She started from cold first time on issues. So I knew I was on to a good one. Just she needed a new clutch. Which I knew who would do that for me. So a nice deal on her let me say

He had no history on the car, apart from all the MOT since the car was imported in 2007. The car was imported with 65649 miles on the clock. She has now only got 69452 on her.

But I did some digging & spoke to the only owner she had had in the UK. I asked all the normal questions. But he didnt have much to say. As the car is like it was when he imported it. All he did was put the bigger wheels on it, changed the fluids a few times & replaced all the break pads. As he didnt do many miles in her as it was only used for weekends.

Here is what she was like when I brought her.

The first job was to get her a new clutch, as hers was completely shoot. So off to the scoobyClinic I went, as I have known Kev for years. He was the only man I trusted with the job. I was also ready to have the cam belt done, but I found out that a guy I know had just done it on her only a few weeks ago. So that saved me some cash for sure

Once I got her back home, I started on the inside first. As this needed some work before I felt I could drive her. Mainly a new carpet (Nicely given to me by my farther in law, Vaughan Flecter of www.vf-racing.co.uk) & a good clean, as she was very dirty. So all the seats came out & the whole inside was cleaned completely.

See what was done below.

I dont have any of all the seats back in, as it was to dark by then I could now drive her at last

I drove her everyday for a good 2 weeks. But with the miles I do, she just isnt the car for my daily drive. As she is now off the road again while I work on her. Then I hope to get her back on the road in the summer for some fun

The next few jobs are mainly on the outside. As the paint work is in a litle bit of a bad way.

Next up to come soon

Enjoy
