Default FieSTi - MK1 Fiesta + Subaru STi = ;-)**updated with piccies 28/10/10**

Hi all

I was introduced to this forum by a friend, Mogsmex. He told me he had mentioned our project on here when he was telling me about someone converting a Mini!
So, I've registered and started to ask some questions

I've read through the Minimprezza and was very impressed. So thought it was time to show you all what we're doing. I'm having trouble with photobucket on my laptop so can't log in, so I've gone and copied these piccies from another site. We've got loads of piccies and when I get back I will endeavour to sort them all out and put them up on here

But these couple will have to do

So, it all started out with me meeting my now very good mate and him telling me about an idea he had. He had always wanted to put an imprezza engine and running gear in a MK3 escort and make it like a Series 1 turbo. I'm well into my Fords so liked the idea. He said he hadn't come across a good 3 door shell to do it with.
I went away and thought about the idea and came up with a solution. I had a good condition Fiesta MK1and so offered him that, saying we could build it between us!! And that's how it all started!!!!

One very clean/good condition Fiesta

One Imprezza bought from E-bay

By dazzles9r at 2010-09-27

Engine and drive train removed

One plus One (with a bit of alteration of course ) gives you this =

Now, the whole car is a lot further on than this but these are the only piccies I hve access to at the moment!
We have had a lot of things made for us, to our design including brakes and radiator.

As said before, I will update this when I get back to good old blighty and my home PC but until then, these will have to do I'm afraid!

Please let us know what you think

Ha ha, mental! Love it..... don't let the MK1 purists see though, they'd have a flaming duckegg or two

Take it you going to rally arch it? Please tell me you're not going to put wheels any bigger than 15" on it

As a huge mk1 fiesta fan I think it should have had a ford lump stuck in it, i.e a zvh. But I'm liking the idea of the 4wd and power that it'll have.

I'm just thinking about selling my classic to get a mk1 fiesta.

I did place it on a couple of Fiesta sites and they really liked it. Think they appreciate it's going to look like a fiesta and wont be until you are very close up that you will start to notice things

Going to fit genuine RS x-pack arches and front spoiler to it. Running Compomotive MO's with 195/50/15's. Looks awsome

The silver one had a zvh in it to start off with, then the head gasket let go, ended up putting a ST170 lump in it, then took that out and put a Focus RS lump in. BUT it was always an ongoing project and never had it on the road, so sold/swapped it for the black one. Got loads of suspension goodies to put on it but wont have to take it off the road

The FieSTi was a spare car I had so thought 'Why not?'

Yep, you're right, it was a 1300 ghia
Just think, subaru power and handling in a car that weighs roughly 800kg, should be fun

Soz, seems I was wrong! Just suddenly thought I could use my folks pooter to get onto Photobucket! But now I have, I've found not all the piccies I thought were on there, are!!

Can add these 2 to show you what the arches look like though

FRS lump sounds interesting. Love the black one. I've got a hankering for a mk1 running either a 2.0 zetec / zvh or 1.9 cvh on twin 45s. I've got a 1.8 zetec bottom end and a stage 3 erst head sat in the shed though.

just love these sort of projects, proper projects were its not just someone taking a car into a garage, throwing loads of money at it and there you have it.i would love to start on something like this but it would probably drive sideways by the time i had finished.

I'd would hope this drives side ways once finished.... as a controlled manouver of course

I know what you mean tho Arf, I once helped my dad build back together his Alpine A310, and we ended up having 5 reverse gears.....

Just to let you know, should be getting the piccies today. Once I've sorted them out into some type of order, I'll get them posted up and update this thread
