Default Race Car Build for Time Attack & Dunlop Race Series

Thought I would let you guys have a look at what I have been building since Jan 2009 in my spare time after work and some weekends...

Bought a tidy 98 Type R off a mate of mine...
Spec:
STD 2.5L
GT30
Motec
coilovers
Ap fronts
HKS exhaust
18" OZ Super Leggera
400hp ish with few extras.

The plan was to build a medium budget race car but I should off known that wasn't going to happen from past experience building other cars.

So here we go:
The engine bay bit messy for my liking

Forgot to take a decent pic of outside but this will do

Next was to strip it all out ready for a Custom Cages FIA/MSA approved weld in rollcage.

O and remove some unwanted weight starting with the sound deadening and excess metal

update: Trying to decide what color to do my wet weather wheels

And mock up for the quick release boot lid

Painted the inside you wouldn't believe the amount of spray dust you get without a extractor but still come out nice

I was looking at it one day and decided that I wanted something a little bit different and wide
So after a cracking deal which Kev sorted at scoobyclinic I went up there and collected a 22B full kit, Kev said it would take some time to fit properly he weren't wrong there it felt like it took forever good experience though first time I have fitted a full kit like this but well pleased with what turned out..Now do I paint it or wrap it hmmm ???

tried some different wheel options

decided on these in the end should go with my color wrap

Went for the fibreglass doors after weighing them and finding out they were still 12.5kg with all the guts cut out

More to come watch this space

And started to mod the front splitter onto the 22B front bumper as nobody done one, this is one off ABW std splitters getting made to fit, another first for me took some time but come out well.
Thinking about copying it for when it gets track damage

And so to sill the core in nicely I wanted to cover endtanks on IC, so just to see what it looks like

Done a bit off porting on the V 1-2 inlet and reversed the TB mount plate so that the IC pipe work runs flat instead of upwards to bonnet.

Again never done some porting so was good to have a crack and was pleased with out come even though it took about 8 hours and lots of flap wheels and a face full of s**t
