Default What to buy???

Hi guys, from what I have seen here I thought this would be the best place to get info for my brother. He is going to be a Scooby virgin in May and even though I have told him what he will need he wanted some advice from the guys in the know, makes me wonder why he asked me
Anyway he is looking to buy his first STI and rather than run it as it is, he wants the whole package. What he wants to know is what he needs to do to get the car up to or around 400 bhp with antilag and launch control, uprated suspension, brakes and, turbo and injectors. The usual brembo upgrade front and back and I suggested white line suspension but not the coilovers. So with the above in mind, what do you guys reckon he needs to buy and put on the car to achieve this and a rough estimate of cost. He is looking to put the car in somewhere and say " There is the money, this is what I want done" He is talking about an engine rebuild as well. Any ideas??? Cheers, Ali

Tip One,

This is the projects section where people post about their builds and progress.

You're probably better off putting this in somewhere like general. Sorry to be a pedant but you're more likely to get a better answer there too

Default Projects!!!

That is a fair point mate but as I had stated the above you missed the intention to put the car in this section as it will be a PROJECT!!!
Where else would you get such good advice??

if your looking to do a build from scratch to a budget, if your serious about doing it i advise you to ring scoobyclinic they can source the car and have a good variety of engine packages, dont get me wrong there are a lot of brilliant tuners out there, but if your looking at a totally blank canvass then i would make these guys your first call , i currently use scoobyclinic for my time attack requirements for 2010, and i have not one grumble
give them a try and go from there
Scooby Clinic | The UK's Largest Independent Subaru Specialists | 01246 590 807 - Chesterfield S42 6QX
but i would be sure this is the route you want to persue coz no one likes a timewaster
hope this helps

Many many thanks mate, like you say there are loads of tuners out there but I have heard of them and I am in Scotland, says it all for the company!! As for wasting time the intention is to put the car on a trailer and take over to do the ring in Germany. My brother as said is just wanting to put the car in and say this is what I am after. Thanks again for the link, Ali

Does your brother have a budget? as that will determine much.

A proven 400+ Bhp in an Impreza will be a fast car.

You could achieve 400 with suspension & brake mods and have LC and AL for under 10K BUT if your brother gets bored with that and wants more power in the future, he will need to consider & tell the tuner as they will have a completely different approach to it.

If he wants a reliable 500+ then be prepared to pay much more

innit just
a lot of people me included dont weigh up the costs properly, when i decided i needed more than 500 bhp to be competetive my wallet cried
500bhp is litterally a good deposit on a fat house

Hate to be biased but this would be a good start

https://www.scoobynet.com/private-sa...c-c-white.html

All it needs is Litchfields new twin scroll turbo & injectors & 450bhp is yours just like MelTypeR has just done
