Update....

Just before round 4 of scoobyshootout i popped to zens to have a few bits replaced after our trip to the ring. The car as many know was running standard power and had gone from 1.2 barr on some nasty bleed valve to 0.5 barr of boost. This was either a leeking boost solenoid pipe or the nasty bleed valve, The other thing it might of been was dump valve sticking open .

I went to zens not wanting crazy power like i have had in the past i decided to go for an apexi ecu and avcr to controll my boost.Once i got there i fitted a walboro fule pump as the car wdnt make much power then i had fitted most the avcr and ecu before going there they needed hard wirring up and setting up on dyno.

Now the new parts was replacced ie .fuel pump, d,v removed new ecu and avcr he started to mapp it on 99 tesco. After around 2 hrs of mapping and 15 mins on rollers i got my printout 347.9bhp 310.1 ft trq at 1.45-1.2 barr i was buzzing ..

I had drove the car for around a week then it was time for scoobyshootout on the sunday i was very nervous some big guns out there and some people like me first event ect ect .

The car is now booked in for a few more suspension tweeks catch can ect ect then it will be took to finall round see how i get on with a much faster and longer track..

yes it will be fine if your not pushing it, its when you are trying to find your grip levels that you will come unstuck, in my opinion i would try and buy a 27-29mm front before sunday, and leave the back as it is.
take a look at this link,

do you not find the hypermax harsh Mark, i had a set and they were very very stiff and the car seemed to bounce too much on them. Nice figures by the way

For circuit use big front bar will be good, but for very tight sprint use on cold tyres it would be a bad move. For a start you don't get the heat into the tyres, so you need all the grip you can get, and stiffer bars/springs will remove grip if the body remains more or less controlled.

On Steven's wagon we ended up with 27mm front and 24mm rear which worked pretty well, but then as you go wider on the car and change the roll centres the roll bar requirements change. Not to mention the problems you get with trying to maintain mount and bush rigidity with ultra stiff bars.

I currently use a 28mm rear tubular bar and a 24mm solid front bar, but that will change. Last year with a 25.4mm rear tubular bar and 24mm front, it couldn't make the tight turns at TOTB on the handling circuit, I would need probably 22mm front and 28mm rear for that, but you correct it would be a handfull on a tight circuit, but then you're not putting on nearly as much steering lock.

But at the end of the day there is no substitute for testing, and Mark has gone from a std front bar to a 22mm front bar he had which should be a good step and still give good turn in on the tight sprint circuits, and not be massive change to have to get used to in just 5 competitive runs.
