1995 Legacy Wagon 2.2 Automatic AND '88GL 1.8 Auto
Been a mechanic all my life and started with VWs in '60. There was nothing I didn't try. In early '80s the Sube came on the scene and I worked on them, along with a few Jap vehicles. The Sube into a Bug is the best change a VW ever got. I spent thousands $$$$ get the hp out of a VW that a "U-Pull-It" Sube engine would supply for a few hundred $$$ and last a hell of a lot longer. I love my Bugs but The Sube has a place there too!!
I have a '95 Legacy Wagon, 2.2/auto with very low mileage that is wiped down the driver's side. I have an '88GL Wagon, 1.8/Auto with very high mileage. I have a couple of good 1.8s that I could use BUT, I'd really like to use the 2.2/Auto out of the '95.
Little help here, Guys. I may be 64 and disabled BUT, I'm goin' out with a wrench in each hand. Well, maybe a BMF Hammer in one of them. ANY comments on this swap and what will swap will be a great help. I am also a certified welder and as long as I don't trip out my Defibulator..... I'll be good to go. Please ....... don't be shy!! Just jump right in there!!!
