Had enough if the rattling from the front doors, having spent too much money on making my car go faster though i should invest and make time for some sounds

Invested in a pair of Boston FS60 components...Will be run from the Apline head unit untill i buy an Amp!

...So here goes:

Dynamatted the front doors using Dynamat Xtreeme…used a roller to apply very easy…Picture with the original Infinity Speakers:

Decided not to buy the adapter for the mounting of the speaker instead made one using mdf…surprisingly I got it right the 1st time around. Searched high and low to find a cumpos to draw the circle....

The cross over was wrapped in plastic to avoid water going into it, then a piece of cloth to stop it rattling and then cabled tired over. This was then put behind the speaker and I used silver take to stick it down..

Closed the window to make sure it clears the cross over…which it did

Tweeter Install: Will be cutting the small grill in the door card (MY98) and popping them out from there...



(on hold as i have burnt my finger, trying to figure out if the cigarette lighter was working or not) Can't feel any of my fingers...

 

Good stuff

Don't cut a hole in the door card for the tweeter yet, have a play to find the best position. Long leads and blutak are your friends . I found that mounting tweeters on the triangle behind the mirror worked...

I have worked with other Dynamt when i did the boot, though foud Dynamat Xtreeme really easy to apply...

Costing £15 per door...

 

Should i be putting the plastic sheet back on...?

Spoookily whilst looking at your pictures I thought "he no have plastic sheet, does this mean I can lose mine?" (fappin things vibrate terribly when bass turned up)"
So without wanting to hijack your thread.................can someone answer SamUK's question please ?

Chiark reckoned not as he didn't and didn't have any problems. See website or do a search.

I washed my car once with the passenger side door card off and there were splashes of water down the plastic sheet when I'd finished, so I've left mine on.

There's advice on NASIOC to use soft foam sponge on the doorcard to stop the plastic flapping. I think they used 1" stuff.
