Default My once lovely 2004 WRX wagon

After blowing a disk in my back 3 years ago my scoob has been sat on the path uninsured and unloved while I ran an auto 3 series.

It has only done 60,000 miles and the car seems to be pretty much mint except for the front end structure and the brakes.

Time has come to start the process of getting it back on the road.

I charged up the battery the other day, popped it in the car and she started first turn and ran sweet as a nut! Can't beat that.

Needs a new U bar subframe and a lower radiator support. Both are ordered and will get new bolts ordered for the subframe too. Front crash bar can be cleaned up I think.

Will need a bloody good service and I will probably change the cam belt whilst I've got the front off the car.

Then the brakes need some attention and that should pretty much be that.

My son is claiming the car so it needs to be right.

Good luck with the job

Ye I've read that it's not really needed but it is part of the crash structure and my son is having the car so it is going on there. He managed to crash a 107 a couple of years ago so better safe than sorry!!

So removed the lower rad support today.

New one comes in two parts and fits like a glove.

Need to bolt the U new u frame up to line everything up and then get it welded in but that is for another day.

Old and new.

Old and new lower rad support

Nearside before rust treatment

Nearside after rust treatment

Offside before rust treatment

Nearside after rust treatment

Test fitting
