Birchy's 2Door Hawkeye by MBDevelopments
Time to show off the work going into the new car for this year from the awesome guys at MB Developments.
Quick round up of where we are;
The car is a 2005 Impreza Hawkeye sporting a ABW Design 2door kit and built by MBDevelopments
The shell is stripped of all weight front to rear, Seam welded top to bottom with tubbed arches. We have a ridiculous amount of time is building and prepping the shell ready for this season.
And really for now we'll let the pictures do the talking.
Front end mock up:
Engine Tease:
I'll try and keep this updated in the run up to my first event of the season.

No one did Kosta, Kept it very quiet but with 8 weeks until the first event of the season no one has the time to copy it now.
Never recovered unfortunately so a mixture of insurance payout, bit of my own money and a lot of help to get this one going. Fingers crossed it should perform well.

So I am, itching to get back behind the wheel. Fingers crossed it will be finished on time but will be tight.
Lessons learnt from the last one really along with proving what I can do gives everyone a bit more faith.
Yeah for the 22B series it does mean S3 going head to head with Matty but its built to mix it up with the Barrel Sprint and hopefully make a mark at Gymkhana Grid this year too.

Quick update, Seam welding has finished and there is now some paint and under seal on the underneath.
Also its got a small feature on Fueltopia Barrel Sprint which is one of the championships I'll be competing in this year.

Rise of the hawkeye updates.
Car is almost ready to go to paint.
Its now on the correct subframes with the suspension and brakes built up and has all the mounts in place for things we need to mount such as lights and intercoolers etc. Seat frames are placed along with the cage and hydro take off points. Diffuser is mounted in and bumpers cut along with our newly dissected abw panels after we came to the conclusion that we didn't need the inner section on any of the panels to save some more weight. Pumps, fuel tank and swirl system are in place ready for the lines to be made up. We've assembled a large portion of the parts we need so as soon as it is back from paint we can start the assembly although as always there is still more to buy. Fingers crossed it should come together extremely quickly once painted. Our daily wheels have arrived although are currently under wraps until we get some rubber on them and will be fitted once its back from paint.
