Sorry to be Mr Ignorant - but what does it actually do for the car? Apart from make a chattering noise like a WRC car (if Im thinking of the correct thing, which is a damn fine reason to have one ) as you back off? I believe its to protect the turbo in some way, but is replacement just a noise obtaining thing?

Im interested cos Im spending a few quid on the my96 Ive got, and Im interested in fiddling about a bit under the bonnet, just to see if I "get the bug" as it were...

So, any info you can give me (Ive seen the nice pic on the forge website and its a lovely purple colour ) might just tempt me.
I believe its just a case of replacing the standard with the Forge, but any advice on where it is and if its easy / difficult to get to and fit would be also much appreciated...

Can you e-mail me a contact number or e-mail address as i know a man who may well want it.

 

It would mak your car sound like a WRC car like you say.It also prevents the turbo from stalling, so in theory better excelleration as the turbo continues spinning rather than stalling(which *can* be hazardous to your turbo, but more often than not it isnt) when you shut off the throttle.

Can become annoying, depends on the individual!

OK, the WIFE (!) wants one and Ive mailed forge to ask if they can confirm it will fit to my96 and what I'll need.

It wont fit, says the man at Forge - apparently its too big for my car, and I need a different one :\

So, thanx but no thanx. Hope you get rid of it soon. And he also told me it will whoosh, not chirp, unless I fit an induction kit as well ...hmmmmm...
