Default Version 9 STI Parts possibly for sale!

Hi,

Just gauging on interest and approx values but I have a set of STI Version 9 seats (replaces with sparco seats so no damage at all).

Also I am about to fit a k-sport brake kit and prodrive wheels in the next 2 weeks so the original brembo brakes will be surplus along with the std wheels, these were new wheels last September and were shot blast and powder coated in satin black, since them have covered 1700 miles so the RE070's have approx 7mm tread. must stress the car has not been used since the end of November so haven't seen a salty road! .......... brakes have covered 30k but discs have loads of life with only a small lip starting to form and also has omp fast road pads fitted that are approx 2-3k miles old.

Also might be tempted to sell the HKS dump valve

I don't really want to give them away for silly money as I don't need to sell them but will let the parts go for genuine sensible offers. Also a friend is after some prodrive Alcons or AP's for a P1 so cold be interested in doing a deal.

Dave

The discs are 114.3 but can be easily re-drilled. Other than that I can't see why not.

The brembo is a higher quality caliper. I dont think the K-Sport has dust seals etc.

Im not saying the K-Sport is rubbish as Duncan(Dynamix on here) won the TA series with K-Sport brakes. I just think that the Brembo caliper is better quality.

Im sure if you had the 8 pots coupled with high quality pads and discs(such as Performance Friction) they will make a great set up. Same as the Brembo. I just dont think its worth the swap unless your going for Performance Friction with the K-Sport.

Sorry im sleep deprived and waffling

I appreciate the comments, If there is no real gain then might be tempted into selling the k-sport kit!!! Cost £1200 with the upgrade pads but if tempted with the right money might sell!

If it was me i'd be selling the K-Sports and buy Performance friction pads and discs for the brembos and they will be awesome. Or keep the K-sport and spend more money on PF pads and discs and they will be better stopping than the brembos due to disc size etc

Sorry should of done this by PM instead of wrecking your sale thread.

Either way there is a good set of brakes up for sale so not a problem! No rush to sell anything but if there is any part someone needs thats great, if not the loft will enjoy them

You cannot be serious when you're saying the OEM Brembo Caliper is better that the K sports?

The K sports will out perform the OEM brembo's all day everyday this has been proven on track many many many times over!! You cannot argue with fact!

yes i can be serious. The people running TA use the 356mm disc using good quality pads and discs(such as PF, which are £700 extra) so will out perform the 328mm brembo using same pads/discs.

If you run the 330mm K-Sport set up against the brembo 328mm using same pads and discs, from what ive read & seen there wont be any difference. If you have evidence of different then i'll suck back.

The caliper is better quality on the brembo.

I know the OP says its the 356mm disc but you have to buy the better pads/discs which will cost another £500-£700. If you sold the K-Sports you could buy top of the range discs and pads for the brembos and have a great set up.

Dont really want to argue on a sale thread and as said if there is proof of like for like testing on the K-Sport/Brembo using same set up i'll suck back. I was just voicing my opinion from what ive used/seen. Again im sorry i said anything in Dave's for sale thread

would you be prepared to swap a gold set 5x114 with tyres + cash your way for the wheels and tyres. or seperate tyres from wheels to sell wheels on there own (dependent on condition), i dont really need the tyres but i am almost certain they would sell, if i am correct in thinking these wheels are 5x114 you probably are limiting your market drastically as i have experience of trying to sell this size before! also i have a brand new white set off a spec c (no tyres) if you fancy a straight swap? pm me if intrested.

I'd be after the tyres if they can be split.

Is that an option Dave?

the gold ones are in fairly good nick, the odd scuff, nothing too big or glaringly obvious. the tyres have around 5-7mil, 2 are potenza (re050, i know) and 2 are continental sport contact 2 (imo a decent and under-rated tyre). i have had them posted on here to sell at £160 but would swap for your wheels if in good enough nick, then butty would buy your tyres. had trouble posting puics before but would meet if you are not more than an hour or so away. lee.
