to which i have, fully comp too

but have to pay the pratts to get my car back

Can you not claim those cost back of the plod as it is their error that your car is in the compound. I'm sure I've read that somewhere. Obviously the pound won't as they are just looking to screw you for every penny they can

well i have to go down in the morning with prof of the papers i have + they can confirm over the phone.

but still have to pay to get there & back + the amount to get my car back.

 

Someone, somewher has screwed up. Whether it be the PNC, the DVLA or your insurance company someone hasn't entered your details on the system. You have done everything in your power to abide by the law, so I'd find out who screwed up and make them pay.

If the coppers don't help (and TBH I don't expect they'll be that interested) go to the Citizens Advice Bureau, or google it

I did a quick search on yahoo and there's a few stories of cars being impounded because of DVLA or insurance company errors and in every case the 'victim' was reimbursed
