subarus are very easy to write off,try pricing bumpers etc from a dealer and with the cam pulleys being at the front a minor bump can mean a new engine as well seen it happen,not much needed to wreck the ceramic cam pulleys,if it reaches 1/3 the value of the car then they write it off iirc
