Any pics? Am I right in assuming that this is an intake elbow for a CAI?

This is the actual elbow jasonius is selling, I can second the condition as he bought it off me... It's like new.

I sold it as i upgraded to a Perrin CAI. But whilst it was mine it was a very nice low cost upgrade.

This is intended for newage impreza's and it works with the existing OEM airbox. It wont be of much use with a CAI Panthro as the airbox and existing resonator will need removed.

Is this just to increase airflow with the std box then? Or am I missing something?

I think in essence thats the main objective of the manufactures however people buy them and it increases induction noise and it also allows the standard recirculating dump valve be heard. Don't however get confused and think this increase of dump valve noise is like a VTA one tho, it isn't.

To be honest its hard to explain the noise the dump valve makes on a thread once the elbow is fitted to the car.

I certainly thought it was better than the chavvy pptsshh noise.
