Oh.. Why dont you tell everyone the full story? I already told him i wont sell the wheels unless he is 100% sure that he will buy them.. As i need to get my self some replacement. He paid me the deposite to confirm he wants the wheel. I then went to brought my self some new wheels and tyres as i trusted him. Today he now decided not to buy them because he thinks gold wont look good on is car. Now i have got 2 sets of wheels because of some w@nker wasting my time. When you go and buy a house and leave a deposit. And decide not to buy it. Do you get them back? If this was you would you be happy? Do you guys think this is fair?

Nothing to do with the fact that they may not fit a classis without rubbing then??

i was worried about rubbing and was told by david at api that they will rub more then likely. Also because offset on my car(uk classic turbo) is different to an sti8/9 they may not clear brembos without spacers and then puttin spacers on could make them rub. so just dont want to take the risk and was advised by david at api to just stick to my 18s or get 215/40z17. i only spoke to david yesterday hence told you this morning that did not want them.I am only going by expert advice given to me by a reputable company and a great experienced mate david. Hence the reason i want my deposit back. im very sorry to have caused so much grief for everyone.

Kevin is an honest and reasonable man, a deposit is a payment as a guarantee that an obligation will be met therefore by not completeing why should you be entitled to a refund? Think the lesson here is do your homework first before money starts exchanging hands

Good luck with the sale kev, you're nuts to be selling them though! what's replacing them?

This was totaly different from what you send Me today. We agreed to fit the wheels first before paying, so where is the risk? You have messed me up as i wont get another set of wheels if you wouldnt buy. As for rubbing is different for every wheel. There is no excuse at all. If you are unsure why buy in the first place?

Thanks for that andy. TBH i wont sell those wheels unless i got decent money for them to fund a set of BBS RE wheels now and now i got 2 sets of wheels and waste extra money

I agree, on both points.
1stly when you leave a deposit you must intend to loose that deposit if things fall thru.
Its good in one way to leave a deposit coz then you are guaranteed the item which is a privillage, however always be prepared to loose the money if you think you mite walk away from the deal shortly after.

2ndly... Kev is an honest bloke and fairs fair in free trade

RLE

as a newage owner I'd go for the Volk TE37 anyday

Looking at post 37 I'd guess that Scooby 1979 has realised that maybe he should have handled things differently !!

Maybe a polite request asking for the money back minus the cost of a few beers and curry (£20 quid say) because of the hassle could have sorted things out. God knows I have made a few buying errors in my time !!

The problem is that no one knows if the money paid was a "deposit" or a "part payment"..

IMO I reckon they are worth about £650-700. They are well over £1000 new with tyres!

Was considering these... they are ultra light weight wheels and as you all know, the less unsprung weight you have the better your car will handle, (and stop)!

So infact... these make your car faster!
