Don't mean to be rude but that is hugely overpriced for a car with a blown engine.

IMO I would get it repaired and then sell it. See what price they are going for.

Knackered £4k. Running £7-9k depends on condition etc. Compare prices etc on the Scoobynet for sale board and Autotrader.

£1000? If you do it yourself possibly yes. Otherwise a bit more than that.

When you say tow, you mean flatbed?

In my opinion it's an impossible price. Labour to remove is going to be £300 minimum. New Crank is £365, bearings about £150 for standard, head gaskets and necessary seals at least another £100 Labour to strip and rebuild must be another £400 or so Then you have oil and filters and other consumables.

If you get it done for £1000 then l'd be interested to hear how successful it is - as I'd probably farm out all our work to them. LOL

There's an STi RA engine going for £900 in the general classifieds from H.Q.RallyPrep. He's breaking a ver3 RA. Thought it might be of help!

Doug.
