Yup it will if you have all the right parts. You will need the switch. Done it on a few UK Turbos now with complete kit.

I've just fitted a kit to a MY98 UK and the dash switch was definately electronic! So from MY98-MY00 they should fit betwen Japanese & UK. Not too sure if this is different on old models though.

it is easy to fit, did mine last year, you need all the relays n stuff too

if you do a search you should find one of my posts with *all* the bits, I had to source a few bolts n belt & sticker from the local scoob dealer

re-gassing cost me about 40 quid too

Defo worth doing

the dash switch is not the problem.thats electric on uk.
evaporator is electronic and sliders on levers are all cable on uk.
on ones i have dealt with loom is different to evaporator sensor .

I think if you put up a guide price, it may help, as I would guess people don't want to over-pay, or take the p!ss and offer too low either!
