That was Dibbley Victorious on the screen, munching on a soft brown squidgy thing which is Terry's, not mine
The RRP for that french footballer named telly is about £3500, but it has Freeview and digital radio built in which is what I want to hang on the wall as this one has an analogue tuner to go with the 3 Scart's and all the rest of it which is why I use a set top box when watching digital TV.

The picture quality is fantastic especially when using component and Panasonic are known for having the best plasma pictures in the UK. I do sometimes conect it to my PC via the monitor connection for large screen gaming and it's damn good.

Obviously I would be very concerned if that were the case especially after having ordered a 42" VIERA for £3500, so I checked Kelkoo and the plasmas they are offereing on the cheap are Plasma monitors and last years models at that.
Just in case anyone reading this doesn't quite know what a "Plasma Monitor" is, it's purely a display only, like a PC monitor but usually has a set of hollow slots for £150 upgrade terminal boards, but they have no tuner unless a £600 (approx) tuner box is used, although these types of panels don't have speakers either as opposed to a "Plasma TV" like mine which has all of the high end television traits such as 3 SCARTs, Component RCA's, VGA input, RF tuner, S-Video & Composite RCA's and of course the speakers.
Don't think I'm being a clever dick though guys but I am a bit of an AV buff, so I know exactly what i'm getting

It varies really, but it relates to the old phrase "you get what you pay for", although the same can't be said for all models.
Not many people know this but there are only 3 Plasma manufacturers and 3 LCD manufacturers for TV and monitor use. Arguably the best plasma manufacturer is Panasonic who also make panels for B&O (although the B&O has multi-room and motorised features), but you always find that the best technology is used and sold under the manufacturers own brand name and it's the cheaper panels are farmed out to other companies for re-branding and thats where these no-frills badge names come in.
It is also argued that the bast manufacturer of LCD TV is Sharp, but they only go up to moderate screen sizes before the cost outweighs the screen size that you end up with.
To be honest, the easiest way to compare picture quality unless you know anyway such as by reading and understanding the spec. is to browse a wall full of them in the likes of Comet or Dixons etc. but make sure that they are fed from the same video source as one being fed from an aerial lead sat next to another playing back a DVD would not be a fair comparison and this tactic can often be used when a shop is trying to favour a particular model due to profit margin or bonus incentives.
You find that Panasonic Plasma TV's always get the best write-ups in all of the consumer electronics magazines because a massive amount of money is spent on R&D as opposed to the likes of Sony where lots of your money is spent on marketing (sorry if you own a Sony BTW).

Thankfully mine is all integrated and you can still opt to buy a cabinet or hang it on the wall, or simply stick with the stand that I bought for it.

FWIW a built-in (analogue) tuner is pointless if you've got Sky or cable. Scart sockets are useful though...
