Thumbs up

They'll fit as long as you have 17 inch rims!

They are 28mm, but I don't plan on splitting the sale.

Would think that you would need to have new mounting brackets made up.

Ive got the 308mm Versions of these brakes that fit under 16in rims, if anyone who cannot afford the bigger rims wanted to consider a deal.

Sorry to highjack the thread.

CataIunya, as of this morning at 0700, I'd seen no firm offers, only people asking how much I'm looking for! £800 for anyone who's interested; offers on email please.

Am interested in your brake kit but second hand discs and pads aren't a very good idea. Can offer £550 as will need to get new ones? Am willing to pay cash and willing to collect.

Let me know your thoughts on this. I am willing to negotiate on price.

Cheers

Clint

I'm puzzled about the comments on second hand discs and pads being a bad idea! This is a matched set; these discs were used with these pads, ie, they fit together!

Bear in mind, guys, that these are circa £1800 new! pretty much the ultimate stoppers without totally overdoing it.

they seem like a bargain to me ~ just trying to work out how i can afford them.

The brakes do sound like what I'm after. I've always thought that it was frowned upon to fit discs & pads that have been used on another vehicle. 5000 miles is enough to have caused a fair bit of wear to them, I don't know how you've driven on them? I've worn out a set of EBC discs and pads in similar mileage? Also a mate of mine has a stripped out S2 RS Turbo with Wilwoods as a weekend fun car and after a few track days there isn't too much life left on those pads and the whole kit is only 12 months old. Bear in mind a FWD Escort is a bit lighter than our Scoobies as well.

Don't want to cause any offence mate. If they are in pukka nick then I'm willing to pay your asking price?

I look forward to your response.

Bear in mind that the APs are the real thing, and are designed for heavy use. Very little else can be compared with them. EBC have a reputation for being a little soft for an enthusiastic driver, AP certainly are not

Yeah I know where you are coming from, the AP kit is very good kit. My mate with the S2 speaks highly of them and says the Cossie boys say they stop you like hitting a wall (only without the broken glass and bent metal).

I wish I'd known EBC were'nt up to enthusiastic driving. I have video footage of the pads smoking away. Looked good for the camera, shame the discs are a bit warped!

How much are replacement discs and pads anyway? As that is my main concern.

Well there was always going to be a down side, wasn't there....

Pads aren't too bad but disks are fairly expensive. On the other side of the coin, you won't have to replace them anywhere near as frequently as EBCs if you are heavy on them.

hope this helps

Cheers I appreciate the help, but my only concern is the condition of disc and pads? Also I know the kit isn't the same but I can get hold of a new wilwood kit 330mm disc size just short of £800 but, the AP for sale is tempting.

Thanks Clint

Question

Width of discs mate?

28mm by any chance?

If so, may be interested if you end up splitting.

Steve.

They were previously fitted to a MY98. Were the latest cars different?
