I have decided to downsize my home cinema setup so I'm looking at selling my DVD/Laserdisc player.

It's a Pioneer DVL-919 (Hong Kong model) and is a combined DVD and Laserdisc player!!

It has been chipped to allow any region of DVD disc to be played (region 1-6 & 0 if you can get hold of them) It works with protected disks and items such as the white rabbit section of The Matrix (region 1) works!

It will *NOT* play PAL Laserdiscs, but NTSC ones are not a problem. (NTSC Laserdiscs from £2.50 on eBay or £4 from the States!!!)

I bought this 3 years ago for an eye watering £900!!!

I have the box, the manuals, the remote and I'll throw in some Laserdiscs!

* Star Wars
* Empire Strikes Back
* Return of The Jedi (still sealed)
* Natural Born Killers (still sealed)
* Men In Black

Other features:

PAL/NTSC/Auto switching image output
Dual readers to enable good music and video output
Will read CD-r's
Digital Audio outputs (both Tosh-link and Co-axial)
Auto flip LD player, so no need to eject to play the other side
Build in DTS decoder

NB - There is no SCART socket on the player, only component video (US thing) and S-Video.

Now Sold

Forgot to say, I can show the unit working with:

DVD region 1
DVD region 2
DVD region 3
DVD region 0
LD (NTSC)
VCD (NTSC & PAL)
Audio CD

I think that covers a majority of sources for any budding home cinema!!

NB - This unit does *NOT* play MP3s

melon,

I can't find any information on the internet that says it's compatible with photo-cd.

I haven't tried it so I can't comment, but I can burn a photo-cd tonight and try it out!

Cheers
Andy

These units change hands in the states for $600-700 even though they are secondhand!

Apparently this would go for £400-450 on ebay!!! And I only want £300 for it!!!

This player has now been sold.

I stuck it on ebay last night, and it was sold this evening for £450.

Thanks for your interest
