Right, as I've not heard back from Martyn the exhaust is back for sale again.
Freshly painted and polished, I'm not going to pretend that it's as new (been on my car for 25k miles) but it is in good nick considering!

Complete system:

Bacbox and Tailpipe showing scrapes:

Open to sensible offers.

Tim did you rub over the pipes with sand paper before spraying?as i might have to do that to the BPM downpipe of MAD PAT before fitting, also do you just get the paint from halfords or somewhere similar.cheers geezer.Alan
James, I would be happy to sell you the Bung, but it would cost 350 quid...and come with a free exhaust system
I bought the Bung from Grasshopper, IIRC it cost me 40 quid or so bit expensive considering how simple it is. It's a removeable section of pipe about 2.5 to 3 inches in diameter with two flange sections to position it centrally within the vast tail pipe. I had to drill two holes in each the side of the tail pipe to fit it, when it's in place two Alen head bolts are used to hold it in.
Alan, I used a rotary wire cup brush on an angle grinder to strip off the old paint. I'm not sure if the BPM you've bought off our Pat is stainless or mild steel. If it's mild steel it's probably got the HPC coating on it, in which case do not use a rotary wire brush like I did! Use a Scotch Cloth (bit like a cross between a scouring pad and sand paper) or fine wire wool to clean and key the surface gently. I think you could use High Temp paint which cost about a fiver from Halfords and is good for 700 C or so, I used Plastikote BBQ paint from Homebase which cost the same is good for 450 C (the Downpipe will get hotter than the rest of the exhaust system) and was the only stuff that would stick to the Aluminimised coating!
Oh, and BTT
