Type R V4 1998 £4600ono
V4 Type-R
75,068miles
MOT May 2011
Tax November 2010
Timing belt done 5k ago, oil changed twice in last 5k miles.
Standard features include I/C waterspray and DCCD short ratio gearbox
I’ve had the car for a year and a half now and tried to build up a bit of history for it. I picked carefully when I bought it and travelled to Birmingham(320miles) to get this one.
The car is always run on V-power and is warmed up carefully and cooled down after every use. This car is our third car(both of us have a car each for work) so is rarely even out in bad weather. The car has never missed a beat and often sits for a week without being touched and has always started first time. I have not even covered 6k miles since owning it, so I've agreed to sell her.
I can safely say this is the fastest car I have been in and is an absolutely different car to a WRX in a good way. The car came to me standard and it is still as Subaru intended. With 270-280bhp and 0-60 in 4.9 secs, the car was no slouch as standard out of the factory. With close ratio gear box and being light, it is ferocious.
I bought this car because I love the classic Impreza. Of all classics(except 22b which you will get no change from £18,000) this is the quickest, lightest and most powerful. Andy Forrest based his world record car on the V4 Type R. Gear box is as strong as you’ll get in an Impreza, lag is low and acceleration is mental.
There are a few small dings/marks on the car but on the whole, the car is very tidy(as are most Type Rs. These are especially well looked after). The car is still in use so mileage may well creep up slowly until sold.
Also remember that tax on this is cheap, it just went up in April to only £210 per year.
Oh, Cat back SS exhaust and smaller steering wheel are on the car but not standard. Will put Subaru wheel back on if I get the chance before sale.
Eagle F1s just put on the rear 600 miles ago and Proxys on the front so nearly full tyre life.
