After only 10 months of selling my subaru I have decided to return to one.
I bought this last june for £4990.
It is a 2002, 52 plate golf gt tdi 130 6 speed model.
It has mot till nov and tax till end of may
It is red, 5 door and is currently on 107k, which is hardly anything for a VW.
Service history is as follows-
upto 60k the service history is stamped by various VW dealers. At 69k it was serviced by A&B autos. Serviced again at 81k. Serviced at 96k by trade up motors and on the 6th jan 2009 it had a oil and filter change by VW wrexham.
It had a 80 point inspection done on it when I bought the car and has since been looked after by my mechanic who is a vw specialist but no stamps in the service history.
The next service which will include cambelt is due at 120k ive been told

I was advised that this was the better choice over the 150bhp model and for about £200 when remapped they can be very rapid, aswell as improved mpg which incidently averages about 50, and have had it up to 70mpg on a long run averaging 50mph.
Tax is around £120 for the year aswell and am paying around £300 fully comp on this where my subaru was £500 so savings all around.
The body work in general is very good with the odd few scratches. The worst point about it is a small dent above the fuel cap with a very small area of paint removed where it had been targeted with a stone. Had a quote which was very reasonable but never got round to getting it sorted.

I am after £4000 ono but idealy as I am selling to get a subaru and swap would be preffered.
I am after a classic, my98-00. Pretty much standard would be nice, I Like the sti spoilers and nice alloys but not really after a 7000bhp monster as its going to be my only car, and the family car.
I would also be interested in slightly cheaper classics, still in the my98-00 range but i would obviously need cash my way aswell.
Im not fixed on my price, I know it has a dent but the gt tdi still holds its value and is worth the asking price all day long and will keep saving money in the long run.

If I didnt have such a pining to return to a subaru, this would be a perfect car for me. Easy and comfortable to drive, its got alot of get up and go in it, cheap tax and not having to worry about the fuel guage
