Blobeye Impreza High Spec
Hi Guys,
Unfortunately due to impending redundancy it looks like my car may have to go....
I originally sold my Focus RS due to a change in job at work, I simply was putting more miles on the car than I was comfortable with so after selling the car the hunt was on for something more suitable... Or so I thought!!!
I saw this impreza advertised at a local garage and was intrigued to its spec etc so just for my own amusement I went in to find out more, the garage didnt know much about it however there was a hastily written spec sheet claiming 400bhp.
After owning a couple of quick cars that i had got tweaked quite extensively myself I was a little wary of buying a car already heavily reworked as i knew nothing of its history and any potential corners that could of been cut in the process. After fairly detailed research on both ScoobyNet and Tyne Tees Scoobies this is what i had found out... Needless to say i took the plunge and bought it a couple of days after!
Engine Work includes:
Engine replaced at 35k by GMD Subaru, clutch was replaced at the same time.
Full service history, last serviced 2k miles ago, including cambelt replacement for piece of mind.
Full Advanced Automotive Systems 2.75inch turbo back exhaust with Prodrive race cat.
Magnex unequal length headers, ported to suit up-pipe and heat wrapped.
Harvey Smith Up-pipe, ported and heat wrapped.
AndyForrest Performance TD05-20G turbo ported to match headers.
Hybrid Front Mount Intercooler.
555cc STI Pink injectors.
Fuel Lab fuel pressure regulator (adjustable)
ScoobyBitz Oil catch can.
K&N Cold feed induction kit.
Forge Recirc valve.
Full Blue silicone hose kit.
Braided fuel hoses.
Ecutek map.
Nearly all the work was done by AndyForrset performance including the mapping and I have Rolling Road print-outs from several rolling roads ranging from 385 to 403bhp.
Handling:
Prodrive pff7's (possible replicas or could be genuine I have no idea)
Toyo t1r's, fitted 3 weeks ago, done around 400miles.
Eibach Springs
Uprated rear anitroll bar
Uprated Droplinks
Interior:
Prodrive short Shift
Swoosh Oil pressure, Oil temp and Boost gauges.
Kenwood Ipod Interface wired into the factory headunit.
Parrot Bluetooth Car kit.
All of the work was done by Andy Greer, Treasurer of Tyne Tees Scoobies (those in the know will know how great this forum is) and was later sold on to a good friend of his on the same forum who was the previous owner before me. The car is absolutely fantastic to drive, a complete league above the RS in terms of outright ability and is a real testament to the guys who ownwed it previously.
Bodywork wise it is excellent, there are the usual stone chips to the front bumper but other than that the car is pretty mint, the only marks noting is a shallow dent at the very front of the bonnet and a reasonabley large stone chip on the leading edge of the drivers front wing just behind the headlight, however it has been touched up well and you honestly can not tell it is there unless it was pointed out. Otherwise the paintwork is fantastic, really very very good for a car of this age and miles.
Another niggle to note is that two of the wheels have some kerbing and ideally need a refurb to make them spotless however due to the colour the kerbing is masked well.
The interior is mint with very little wear to any of the side bolsters and absolutely no marks, rips or burns anywhere.
The car's Mot is valid untill September 09, and tax till Aug 09.
Right as for the price, because I have only owned the car for only a short period I am selling it for the price I paid for it which was £8000, now I am open to offers but please do not take the Pi** the price is there for a reason after all....

Thanks
Tel: 07590840504 or pm me for any questions. I am based near Grantham, Notts...
***EDIT*** I've had quite a few messages asking what is my lowest price so just for the benefit of others, and also to save me writing 6 repeated messages, my bottomline price is 7500 realistically, at this stage I really cannot go lower than this....

Im loking for my first scooby at the moment, and thats a good price. But being 22 and my first scooby i think 400bhp would be a little excessive. I can get insurence for a standard sti but not one with all the mods that has.
To bad really as its a really nice car

hey again BeatMonkey.
Is it still up for sale? if yes, i'll give you a call soon.
Only worry I have is since the mention above about the gearbox.
Can you or anybody tell me if the box is strong enough for this kind of power if being used on trackdays aswell, or would it be better to replace the box then and what box ideally would i be looking for then and offcourse what would be the cost involved?
Sorry for the many questions. but as it says under the name: scooby newbie...
best regards, Robert

Hi guys sorry for the delay, yes the car is still for sale, had a lot of bites but no one has come up with the cash as yet
Can't say I can answer the gearbox question I'm afraid as I'm no expert, however I have had no issues with it at all and I am also aware of other big power imprezas still running the stock wrx box....
The car has full brembo set up from an sti
And thankyou mr Greer

Yep it has a rac trackstar and has an upgrade cat1 factory fit alarm, as for insurance I have no idea why some come up with sti as it's definately a wrx- I would recommend speaking to rob at A-plan and Gary at Keith michaels if you haven't already
unfortunately not looking so good. moreso because i would like to have this as an extra car so i wouldn't have ncb to take over from a previous car. just still waiting for another quote of my own ins company, but im not very optimistic...
btw i did try above mentioned; but same problem. too expensive and cant really justify that for a car that i will only use as a toy....
but omg i would really like to buy it!
will let you know

Hi everyone!
I was the lucky man who managed to coax this impreza away from beatmonkey!
It is my second impreza (after a 2001 bugeye with NOS a couple of years ago), and i must say that this one is completely out of this world! :-) I cant stop smiling!
Oh and a thanks to Rob @ A-Plan (and everyone on the forum for recommending) as my current insurance company wouldnt insure me, confused.com came up with the cheapest price at £1034 (thats for a standard 225bhp wrx!!!!), however Rob came top trumps with £764! including all the mods! BARGAIN!!!!!!!!
Nice to meet you all, and cheers again to Beatmonkey
