Default Subaru Impreza Litchfield Type 20

Due to serious lack of use, I've decided to put my pride and joy up for sale. Its a 2003 '53 plate Subaru Impreza Litchfield Type 20. Basically it begins life as a standard JDM STI, which in itself gains the following over a UK spec car of the same year.

HID headlights
IHI Twin Scroll Turbo (holds power much better over the rev range than a UK spec VF unit)
Equal Length tubular Stainless steel Manifolds
Slightly larger Intercooler
Larger profile Cam Shafts
Larger Valves
Higher engineered Pistons
Stronger Con Rods
Nitrated and cross drilled Crank
8000rpm redline
STI Branded Walbro 255lph fuel pump
AVCS/VVT.
Quick Rack Steering
Automatic Intercooler Spray (also manual)
DEFI Style dials with sweep on start up
Titanium STI Strut Brace
Shorter 5th and 6th gear
DCCD Gearbox - adjustable centre diff
Rear Wiper
Rear Privacy Glass
Different rear Tail light configuration (this car has fog light intergrated into the cluster)
Crystal Clear front headlights (UK cars have large Orange Sections)
Clutch Start

This particular car was brought over new by Litchfield Imports and first registered June 2005 with just 5 miles on the clock. It was registered in Japan Dec 2003, in order for Litchfields to export, thus why its gained a 53 plate, even when it was reg'd here June 05. To create the Litchfield Type 20, they give the car an Ecutek remap for UK fuel (97ron) - currently mapped to 330bhp 335ft lb. It has a full Milltek exhaust system, inc Sports Cat. A decat downpipe and tweak to the map should see it over 350/350.

After this they pass it over to Powerstation for fitment of AST 12 way adjustable suspension, Whiteline front and rear adjustable anti roll bars and Whiteline anti lift kit. After the fitment of this, it underwent a full geometry setup to Litchfield / Powerstation spec's. In addition to this, the previous owner specified the optional track pack, which includes Spec C Oil Pump, Spec C Fuel Pump and Spec C radiator. Also at the time of purchase, they added the genuine Subaru Spec C Carbon Spoiler and a trio of Defi BF gauges - covering Turbo Boost, Oil pressure and Oil temp. It also has a CAT 1 Alarm and RAC Trackstar fitted. For insurance quotes, A Plan and Keith Michaels are probably the best bets, if using KM, speak to Gary Moulson only

So that covers the interesting bits . . . . the basics

MOT til July
TAX til July - currently £115.50 6months / £210 12 months
Stamped service history from Powerstation / The Racing Line and Precious Metal Performance.
Mileage is at 44k.
One previous owner.
Currently on Toyo T1-R's with good tread all round.

Only bad point to mention is a small mark on the passenger door.

Couple of pics with more to follow over the weekend

And the most important bit - - - £10995 or there abouts

T20 is an awesome car! I was looking for one a few years back & there were literally none for sale (rare car) so I bought a Spec C instead

Good luck with the sale. £'s seems about right so hold out for the right buyer ...

Its not got the Spec C Oil Cooler, although would'nt have thought it'd be too hard to fit one.

I've spoken with several local specialists regarding the services due on this. Its due an interim service next (approx 800 miles time) then the cambelt is due on the following service. Due to the fact it just isn't used, its not going to see 800 miles before it goes, so the price can be slightly amended to take into account the interim service due if you're interested . . .

Si...

It has got the Spec C Oil cooler as this part of the 'Track pack' as fitted by Litchfield / Powerstation...

This includes:

Spec C Oil Pump
Spec C Oil Rad
Spec C Fuel Pump

**************

This was my car before Si owned it...

I sold it last year for my current 335D.

I had loads done in readiness for a trip to Stelvio in May last year (full service, full under body check, disks on the front and pads all round), but sold it before I went with the 335D. The garage wanted the swap before I took it on a 3,000 mile hard driving trip.

Si hasn't really driven it properly since owning it (I never tracked it and got some grief for that ) but I can guarantee he would have looked after it properly...

That is one very special motor...

Cheers for the info Al. And yes, you're right, I've not driven it properly at all

(can't believe I'm in agreement with someone who drives a BM )

Its a shame as its a superb motor Will miss it when its gone, but then I suppose there's always the R6 to keep me happy

IIRC, the 'Track Pack' was a £1,500 option back then. Not sure how much of the Spec C kit was used though...

Also forgot that it had braided brake hoses.....

Hi Alan,

No its my 4th. I got rid of my last one a 340bhp STI8 that Kev looked after for me at the clinic in Jan and bought a RX8,

BIG MISTAKE

So I had been looking for a good example.

Keep finding bits of stone in it? Do you know owt about it?

FPMSL!!

Quality. I had to read that 4 times before it clicked....
First thought was 'Si cleaned that like a bugger...how the hell is he finding bits of stone..what's that go to do with me.... ah.. right...'

If it's good solid Yorkshire stone then..... aye. That'll be mine...
It buffed out.

Who blabbed?
Main suspect.. JB
2nd main suspect.. Sticky
3rd main suspect.. Si (after a few beers and taking the bravery pills)
4th main suspect.. Everyone else..

I'm glad you put the BIG MISTAKE in caps! WTF were you thinking? A Clinic fettled car for a RX8?
Hey ho, at least you've seen the light. Let me know what you think of the motor....

And yes, that 20 degree pull to the left off centre steering wheel and list to the right are 'features'...

yes mate the twin scroll makes a huge difference.

Who's JB

Kev was not ammused with the RX8.

Think he was a bit upset with me.

Mind you my bank balance did improve while I didn't have the STI8.

Boring though

How bad did you come off with the drystone wall?

JB24... James.. One of Kev's boys.

He was in front on the night... Si was behind... Sticky was at the front. Several other WYIOC members around too.

It was slush. We headed over to Lady Bower to meet with the SMACS lads and 4 other cars went round a slight bend with no issues.... I had dropped back with Si behind as I had RE070's on and was going half their crawling speed as it was a bit icy and dark... So I blame the tyres... The 70's were not good in the wet, but tied with the T20 setup in icy slush and it simply stepped out.

Nothing major. Looked worse than it did.

One bit of History nothing to do with the above. I had the rear AST's serviced, refilled, re-sprung and a 4wd re-setup after one developed a small leak. It was carried out at Powerstation by Kurt on their quality setup...

Quick tip to shut the Defi Alarm up when you turn the engine off but leave the ignition on to listen to the radio... Press the 'Play' button on the controller by your left leg to play the last recording of the gauges and then hit 'pause'. Job done.

Something tells me the bank's going to get a shoeing again... eh?
